Used 2024 GMC Canyon for Sale near Oklahoma

How much does the 2024 GMC Canyon cost?

Prices have softened 8.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,772 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon a good car?

The 2024 GMC Canyon is a strong pick if you want a midsize pickup that feels more upscale and more capable than many rivals, though its price and packaging trade-offs matter. It earns a 3/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It stands out for its tall, wide stance, excellent materials quality, and unusually strong standard equipment, while the available AEV package pushes its off-road capability even further. The trade-offs are a cramped back seat and a shorter bed than competitors, so it suits you best if you value capability, tech, and a premium feel over maximum utility.

Good and great deals: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon reliable?

The 2024 GMC Canyon’s appeal starts with its strong standard equipment and robust turbocharged powertrain, and the expert evaluation also points to a truck that feels well sorted on the road. The 2.7-liter engine is described as powerful enough for towing, hauling, and off-road driving, and the truck’s ride quality and braking are praised as well.

The performance notes also describe the powertrain as robust, with the eight-speed automatic well matched to the engine and road noise impressively well dampened. On the cost side, the Canyon’s operating expenses are expected to be significant, and that matters if you plan to keep it for the long haul.

If you buy used, the biggest ownership risk is that the Canyon’s premium positioning can make repairs and running costs feel more expensive over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Canyon?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-trim truck with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, signs of hard use, and whether the truck’s features work as advertised, since the Canyon’s appeal depends heavily on its tech and capability.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Elevation is the closest thing to a work-truck setup, while AT4 leans more off-road, Denali leans luxury, and AT4X is the most dirt-focused. Even the base trim includes dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, a tilting and telescoping steering wheel, an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, and an 11.3-inch touchscreen, so you’re not starting from a stripped-down truck.
• Powertrain: Every trim gets the most powerful version of the turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The truck uses an eight-speed automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive is limited to the Elevation.
• Safety package: The Canyon comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder system. Rear park assist, rear cross-traffic braking, and blind-zone steering assist require the Canyon Safety Plus package on an Elevation.
• Infotainment: The standard 11.3-inch touchscreen includes Google Built-in, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included. The Denali and AT4X also get a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The best-rated setup returns 19 mpg city, 23 highway, and 20 combined, while the AT4X AEV tester was rated at 16 mpg across the board.

Which 2024 GMC Canyon trim should I buy?

The 2024 GMC Canyon is offered in 4 trim levels: Elevation, AT4, Denali, and AT4X.

Here's the short version:

• Elevation: This is the value starting point if you want the Canyon’s standard tech and capability without paying for the more expensive trims. It still brings a strong equipment list, including the 11-inch digital gauge cluster and 11.3-inch touchscreen, but you’ll need to add 4WD if you want it.
• AT4: This is the better choice if you want a more off-road-oriented Canyon without jumping all the way to the top of the range. It builds on the truck’s capability-focused character and is a good middle ground for buyers who want more ruggedness than the Elevation.
• Denali: Choose this if you want the most upscale feel and are willing to pay for it. It leans into luxury and adds a head-up display, making it the trim for buyers who care most about comfort and premium presentation.
• AT4X: This is the trim for you if off-road capability is the priority. It doubles down on the AT4’s dirt-focused mission, and the AEV package adds even more hardware for serious trail use.

The Canyon Safety Plus package adds rear park assist, rear cross-traffic braking, and blind-zone steering assist on the Elevation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Canyon?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,772 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.12% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,819, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $39,819 sits slightly below last year's $43,340.

That softer pricing suggests the Canyon has become a little easier to buy than it was a year ago. If you’re a future seller, that means you may face more price pressure than owners did last year, especially if your truck lacks desirable equipment or has visible wear.

The upside is that the Canyon’s premium positioning and strong equipment list can still help it hold appeal with shoppers who want a more upscale midsize truck. Well-kept examples with the right trim and features should remain easier to market than bare-bones trucks.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon safe?

The 2024 GMC Canyon earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star frontal crash ratings, five-star side-impact ratings, and three-star rollover ratings.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Canyon comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder system. If you want rear park assist, rear cross-traffic braking, and blind-zone steering assist on an Elevation, you need the Canyon Safety Plus package.

The rollover result is the main caution point here, so safety-minded used buyers should pay close attention to trim content and whether the truck has the driver-assistance features you want.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.12% compared with last year.
• It adds a new AEV package that pushes the AT4X even further into serious off-road territory.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $38,482, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $39,819 average.
• It introduced the redesigned Canyon with a more upscale feel and strong tech.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the latest version with the AEV off-road upgrade and you’re comfortable paying a bit more for it. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter path because it delivers much of the same core Canyon experience for less.
