Used 2024 GMC Canyon for Sale nearAnn Arbor, MI

How much does the 2024 GMC Canyon cost?

Prices have softened 7.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,751 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Canyon options to compare.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon a good car?

With a 3/5 user rating and an expert score of 7.2/10, the 2024 GMC Canyon looks strongest if you want a midsize pickup that feels more substantial and upscale than many rivals.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Canyon’s appeal comes through clearly in its tall, wide stance, upscale cabin materials, and strong standard equipment. It is also positioned as a truck that can go farther and work harder than much of the class, with a clear off-road bent and a new AEV package for 2024 that pushes the AT4X even further into rugged territory.

The trade-offs are just as clear: the bed is shorter than competitors’, the back seat is cramped, and the truck is expensive.

With 36.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon reliable?

The 2024 GMC Canyon is built around a strong turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain, and the expert review describes it as having more than enough power for towing, hauling, and off-road driving.

That same review also notes that the Canyon’s road manners are impressive for a pickup, with well-damped noise, composed ride behavior, and brakes that do a good job even in emergency situations. The truck’s standard eight-speed automatic is described as well-suited to the engine, which is a good sign for everyday drivability.

On the ownership side, the review also points out that fuel economy is a weak spot, so long-term running costs may be higher than you’d want from a midsize truck.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Canyon?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are looking at a higher-trim truck with more equipment. Pay close attention to tire wear, suspension condition, and signs of hard use if the truck has seen off-road duty.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Elevation comes closest to a work-truck setup, while AT4, Denali, and AT4X move the Canyon toward off-road capability, luxury, and the most rugged hardware. The base trim still includes dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, a tilting and telescoping steering wheel, an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, and an 11.3-inch touchscreen, so you are not starting from a stripped-down truck.
• Powertrain: Every trim gets the most powerful version of the turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The truck is described as strong enough for towing, hauling, and off-road driving, with a maximum tow rating of 7,700 pounds.
• Safety package: The Canyon comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder system. Rear park assist, rear cross-traffic braking, and blind-zone steering assist require an extra package on the Elevation, so check carefully for those features.
• Infotainment: The standard setup includes an 11.3-inch touchscreen, Google Built-in, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Denali and AT4X also get a head-up display, and every trim includes off-road performance display pages.
• Fuel efficiency: The best-rated setup returns 19 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined, while the AT4X AEV tester was rated at 16 mpg across the board.

Which 2024 GMC Canyon trim should I buy?

The 2024 GMC Canyon is offered in 4 trim levels: Elevation, AT4, Denali, and AT4X.

Here's the short version:

• Elevation: This is the best-value starting point if you want the Canyon’s core strengths without jumping straight to the pricier trims. It still brings a strong standard tech package, but some safety features cost extra, so check the equipment list carefully.
• AT4: This is the smart pick if you want a more off-road-focused Canyon without going all the way to the top. It builds on the truck’s rugged character and is a better fit if you want capability first.
• Denali: Choose this if you want the most upscale feel in the lineup. It leans into luxury and adds a more premium ownership experience.
• AT4X: This is the most extreme choice, especially with the AEV package. It is the right trim if you want the Canyon’s most serious off-road hardware and do not mind paying for it.

The Canyon can be equipped with impressive safety features, but unless you opt for a high-spec trim, they’ll likely cost extra.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Canyon?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with patience and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,751 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,238, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $39,238 sits slightly below last year's $42,587.

That decline suggests the Canyon has softened in the used market, which can help you buy more truck for the money today. If you plan to sell later, the same trend means you should expect some depreciation pressure unless demand tightens.

Because the current price is already near the year-round low, a well-kept Canyon bought at the right number should hold up better than one purchased at the top of the range.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon safe?

The 2024 GMC Canyon earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star frontal crash results, five-star side-impact results, and three-star rollover results.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Canyon comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder system. Rear park assist, rear cross-traffic braking, and blind-zone steering assist are available on lower trims only if you add the appropriate package.

The lower rollover result is the main caveat to keep in mind if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.86% compared with last year.
• The 2024 adds a new AEV package that pushes the AT4X deeper into serious off-road territory.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,763, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $39,238 average.
• It introduced the redesigned Canyon with a more upscale identity and strong tech.

The bottom line: Buy the 2024 if you want the latest off-road hardware and are shopping the current used market for a better deal. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Canyon’s core strengths.
