Is the 2024 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.57/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

Owners repeatedly praise the F-150’s powerful engine choices, smooth driving feel, and strong towing capability. The broad feature set also comes through as a major plus, especially if you want a truck that can handle both work and family duty.

The main trade-offs are the center-console storage, the lack of push-button start, and some concerns about value at higher prices. In context, this is a truck aimed at buyers who want one vehicle that can cover hauling, towing, commuting, and everyday errands without giving up capability.

The market still shows 35.0% good or great deals, so there are opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, with owners often highlighting its strong performance and the confidence that comes from a well-rounded, capable design. The expert test-drive notes also emphasize that the truck settles down nicely once it has some weight in the bed, which supports the sense that it is built for real work.

Ford also includes a three-year/36,000-mile factory warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the bigger long-term concern is less about basic durability and more about choosing a well-kept example with the right equipment and condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford F-150?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-mileage trucks or examples with towing and off-road use. Focus on wear in the cabin, signs of hard work in the bed and hitch area, and whether the truck’s equipment matches how you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL is pretty spartan, while higher trims add much more comfort and luxury. The lineup is broad, and some mid trims still show cheap-looking surfaces, so inspect cabin materials carefully if you want a more upscale feel.
• Powertrain: The standard turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 is joined by a 3.5-liter PowerBoost Hybrid with 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque on select trims. The Tremor uses a 5.0-liter V8 with 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, while the Raptor R brings a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 with 720 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Ford CoPilot 360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and cross traffic alert. A 360-degree camera is worth seeking out, and BlueCruise is available on Tremor and higher trims.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 12-inch touchscreen with SYNC 4, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 5G LTE hotspot, wireless charging, and a 12-inch digital gauge cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The PowerBoost Hybrid is rated at 22 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined. The Raptor R is rated at 12 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford F-150 is offered in 8 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Tremor, Raptor, and Raptor R.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the most affordable entry point, but it is also the most basic. It makes sense if you want a work truck and plan to add only the essentials.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it opens the door to more comfort and equipment without jumping too far in price. It is also one of the trims that can be paired with the hybrid powertrain.
• Lariat: This trim adds a more upscale feel and is a good fit if you want a nicer daily driver with more available tech and comfort.
• King Ranch: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with heated and ventilated front leather seats, heated rear seats, wood trim, and ambient lighting.
• Platinum: This is another premium step up, with more upscale interior treatment and access to the hybrid powertrain.
• Tremor: This is the off-road-focused choice, with a 5.0-liter V8, 33-inch tires, a 1-inch lift, off-road-tuned suspension, and trail-driving features.
• Raptor: This is the high-performance off-road model for buyers who want serious capability and a more extreme setup.
• Raptor R: This is the most extreme version, with the supercharged V8 and the most aggressive hardware in the lineup.

BlueCruise is available on Tremor and higher trims, so shoppers who want hands-free driving assistance should keep that in mind.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford F-150?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options but still enough variation to reward quick action on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,773 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $45,223, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $45,223 sits slightly below last year's $50,290.

That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money today, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the market holds up from here. If prices stabilize, a clean, well-equipped F-150 should remain easy to move because it sits in a high-demand segment with broad buyer appeal.

Trucks with desirable equipment, strong condition, and the right powertrain tend to hold attention better than stripped or heavily used examples. If you buy smart now, you improve your odds of getting a stronger return later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2024 Ford F-150 earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, with five-star side-crash and frontal-crash ratings and four-star rollover ratings. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2024 F-150 SuperCrew a Good rating in driver- and passenger-side crashworthiness, but front-crash testing received a Poor rating for possible injuries to rear-seat passengers.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford CoPilot 360 is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and cross traffic alert. A 360-degree camera is not standard, so moving up the trim line can make a real difference in day-to-day confidence. BlueCruise is available on Tremor and higher trims, and it adds lane-change assist and lane-repositioning.

The main caveat is that some advanced safety features are not standard, and the IIHS front-crash result is a reminder to pay attention to trim and equipment when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It gets updated BlueCruise, a standard 12-inch touchscreen, and a multi-functional tailgate.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $41,149, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $45,223 average.
• It adds the Raptor R debut and the XLT Heritage Edition.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $49,202, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $45,223 average.
• It expands the lineup with more driver-assistance systems and a Platinum Plus package.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of updated tech, strong satisfaction, and softer pricing, the 2024 is the smart default. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value play; if you want the broadest lineup and more new features, the 2025 is worth a look.
