Why it stands out
The 2024 Dodge Durango stands out as a three-row SUV that blends family-friendly seating with a distinctly performance-oriented character. It is part of the Durango’s third generation, which moved to a crossover design with unibody construction and became much more comfortable and easy to drive. Even so, it still offers the kind of versatility that has long defined the nameplate, including seating for seven and a wide range of trims that span fleet, police, family, and high-performance versions.
For 2024, the Durango’s powertrain lineup consisted of the base Pentastar V6 along with 5.7-liter, 6.4-liter, and 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8s. The model also offered rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, while first responder versions got all-wheel drive. Buyers could find features such as leather or nappa leather, a premium Harman Kardon audio system, lane-departure warning, a backup camera, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. That mix gives the Durango a broad appeal: it can be a practical three-row SUV, but it can also be configured with serious muscle-car flavor.
At the same time, the 2024 Dodge Durango is not without drawbacks. The buying guide notes that the third generation has had many recalls for issues including brake failure, problematic fuel pumps, and electrical and wiring problems, so inspection history matters. It also points out that the Durango has poor mpg and that the current generation is outdated, which may matter to shoppers who want the latest packaging or efficiency. Still, for buyers who value strong powertrains, seven-passenger seating, and a wide spread of trims and equipment, the 2024 Durango remains a distinctive choice.

Is the 2024 Dodge Durango a good car?
Yes — 4.8/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. Drivers generally praise its smooth ride, abundant features, and strong power, and many also like the AWD option for its performance and fuel efficiency. The 2024 Durango fits well if you want a three-row SUV with family seating and a more performance-oriented personality. With 36.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2024 Dodge Durango reliable?
Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with owners highlighting its smooth ride and strong power. The same feedback also suggests it can be a trouble-free choice when you find one that has been maintained well and matches your needs. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you avoid examples with a rough history or deferred maintenance.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Dodge Durango?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should prioritize a history report first, then confirm the vehicle’s maintenance record and any prior damage claims. It’s also smart to pay close attention to how the SUV drives and whether all features work as expected.

What is the 2024 Dodge Durango's resale value?
The current average of $32,217 sits slightly below last year's $35,312.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make resale a little more competitive for future sellers. If you buy at a favorable price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Strong demand can still help support value, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.76% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $33,017, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $32,217 average.
- It adds standard heated front seats and a broader trim lineup.
Consider the 2025 if:
- At $33,443, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $32,217 average.
- It emphasizes a roomy, comfortable cabin with a modern infotainment system.
The bottom line: The 2024 is the best starting point if you want the strongest mix of price, availability, and buyer satisfaction. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2024 still looks like the primary path, while the 2023 is worth a look only if you find a cleaner or better-equipped example at a compelling price.
