Used 2024 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearElmira, NY

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 16.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,689 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — your 5/5 user rating pairs with an expert score of 7.8/10. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The 2024 Traverse is a larger, bolder three-row SUV with more passenger space, especially in the third row, and a much larger touchscreen than before. It also adds more standard driver aids, which makes it feel more modern and easier to live with if you want family-friendly utility with a stronger visual presence.

The trade-offs are that it still feels its size, the base LS trim is a little too basic, and the range-topping RS trim is pricey. Even so, the market shows 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you room to shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Traverse is presented as a more modern and better-equipped version of the model, with more standard driver aids and a cabin that’s easier to live with. Its updated powertrain also brings stronger output than the outgoing V6, and the ride and braking behavior are described positively in expert testing.

The fuel-saving stop-and-start system is described as seamless in operation, which is a nice ownership perk. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this is still a large, complex family SUV, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Traverse?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any listing you like, even if it appears clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the electronics, driver aids, and interior wear, since this model leans heavily on technology and family-use practicality. Focus on overall condition, because the Traverse’s size and feature content make neglected examples easier to spot once you look closely.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS is the most basic version, while the LT adds the equipment many shoppers are likely to want; the Z71 is aimed at buyers who want more rugged capability, and the RS is the priciest, most fully loaded choice.
• Powertrain: The Traverse uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, replacing the outgoing 3.6-liter V6. All-wheel drive is optional on every trim.
• Safety package: Every model gets automatic emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, side-exit assist, rear pedestrian alert, and a surround-view parking camera.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 17.7-inch touchscreen, an 11-inch digital instrument display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Google-based software.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test drive data does not provide a full MPG figure for this model year.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, Z71, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, but the expert review says it is a little too basic, so you should only choose it if price matters most and you’re comfortable keeping things simple.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it is expected to be the most popular model and adds the kind of everyday flexibility families tend to want.
• Z71: This is the trim for you if you want the Traverse’s more rugged character and the added capability that comes with its off-road-leaning setup.
• RS: This is the top-end choice with nearly every available feature, but it is also the priciest trim, so it makes sense only if you want the most equipment and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, with no major feature gap called out for the lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,689 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.17% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,027, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $37,027 sits slightly below last year's $44,171.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse had not undergone crash tests from NHTSA or IIHS at the time of the test drive.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every model comes with a wide suite of standard driver aids, including automatic emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, side-exit assist, rear pedestrian alert, and a surround-view parking camera. The main caveat is that official crash-test results were not yet available in the source material.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a larger touchscreen, more standard driver aids, and a more rugged redesign.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $39,181, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,027 average.
• It adds the High Country trim and standard trailering equipment.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it combines lower pricing with strong inventory and a major redesign. If you’re willing to pay more for the newer model’s added trim and equipment changes, the 2025 is the better fit.
