Used 2024 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearAmarillo, TX

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 16.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,835 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Traverse’s appeal is tied to its larger, bolder three-row layout, added passenger space, and much larger infotainment touchscreen. It also brings more standard driver aids, including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which makes it feel more current as a family hauler.

The main trade-offs are that it feels its size, the base LS trim is a little too basic, and the range-topping RS trim is pricey. If you want a roomy family SUV with a modern cabin and strong tech, this year’s Traverse fits that use case well.

37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Traverse is presented as a more modern and better-equipped version of Chevrolet’s three-row SUV, with more standard driver aids and a fully updated cabin. Its larger touchscreen, added space, and expanded safety equipment all point to a vehicle designed to be easier to live with over time.

The powertrain is described as stronger than before, with more horsepower and torque than the outgoing V6. The cabin also benefits from a broad set of standard convenience and safety features, which should help day-to-day dependability feel reassuring.

If you plan to keep it for the long haul, the biggest ownership risk is making sure the specific used example has been maintained well and still feels tight given its size and complexity.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Traverse?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially on a larger SUV where wear can show up in the suspension, brakes, and interior trim. Focus on whether the cabin features, driver aids, and touchscreen all work as intended, since those are major parts of the Traverse’s appeal.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS is described as a little too basic, while the RS is the pricey range-topper. The Z71 adds a more rugged look and is intended for moderate off-roading, but it is not meant to be a mud-plugging machine.
• Powertrain: The Traverse uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, replacing the previous 3.6-liter V6. Chevrolet says the new engine delivers more power and torque than before.
• Safety package: Every model gets automatic emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, side-exit assist, rear pedestrian alert, and a surround-view parking camera.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 17.7-inch touchscreen, an 11-inch digital instrument display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Google-based software. Super Cruise is offered on the Traverse.
• Fuel efficiency: Official EPA estimates range from 18 mpg city, 26 highway, and 21 combined for the Traverse Limited with FWD down to 17/25/20 for the Limited with AWD.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, Z71, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, but the review team says it is a little too basic. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the richer equipment found higher up.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it is expected to be the most popular model and adds the flexibility of a second-row bench or dual captain’s chairs. It also gives you a strong foundation for adding Super Cruise and the Trailering Package.
• Z71: This is the trim for you if you want the more rugged look and the moderate off-road intent Chevrolet built into the model. It is not a hardcore trail rig, but it is the right choice if you want the tougher character.
• RS: This is the top-end choice if you want the most loaded Traverse, but it is also the pricey range-topper. It suits you best if you want the fullest feature set and are comfortable paying for it.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, with standard driver aids on every model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,835 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.38% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,217, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $37,217 sits slightly below last year's $44,506.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped.

Because the Traverse has strong demand as a three-row family SUV and a solid owner satisfaction rating, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. If you buy smart and maintain it carefully, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2024 Traverse had not undergone crash tests from NHTSA or IIHS at the time of the test drive.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every model gets automatic emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, side-exit assist, rear pedestrian alert, and a surround-view parking camera. Super Cruise is also offered, adding hands-free driving capability on mapped roads.

The main caveat is that official crash-test results were not available in the source material, so you should lean more heavily on the standard driver-assistance equipment and the vehicle history of any used example you consider.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Chevrolet added more standard driver aids and a much larger infotainment touchscreen.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $39,339, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,217 average.
• The base LS trim disappears, and the lineup adds an upscale High Country trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because prices have already softened and the feature set is strong. If you want the newer lineup changes and do not mind paying more, the 2025 is the secondary path.

How does the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse compare to the 2024 GMC Acadia?

2024 Chevrolet Traverse:

• Pros: Rugged, truck-like exterior, More power and torque, Giant infotainment touchscreen.
• Cons: Base LS trim is a little too basic, Range-topping RS trim is pricey, Feels its size.

2024 GMC Acadia:

• Pros: Powerful engine, Plenty of cargo space, Easy-to-use technology.
• Cons: Potentially polarizing design, Fairly pedestrian performance.

Our experts score the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse 7.8/10 and the 2024 GMC Acadia 6.8/10. The Traverse looks and feels more rugged, and it brings more power and a giant infotainment touchscreen. The Acadia counters with a powerful engine, plenty of cargo space, and easy-to-use technology, but its design may not appeal to everyone. If you want the stronger overall expert pick, the Traverse has the edge; if you want a different take with solid utility, the Acadia remains a reasonable alternative.
