Used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD for Sale nearGrand Junction, CO

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 7.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,986 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Generally — you’re looking at a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating, which points to a truck that lands well with both owners and reviewers. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the strong performance, ride quality, and appearance, and they also like the range of options available. The truck’s off-road ability is another recurring positive, especially if you want a heavy-duty pickup that can handle rougher terrain.

The trade-offs are that some owners want more advanced features and technology, and the truck is often seen as overpriced. In practical terms, this is a better fit if you value capability and presence over bargain pricing or the latest gadget count.

With 34.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels strong, dependable, and capable of handling demanding use over time. The expert drive notes also emphasize quiet, smooth operation from the diesel powertrain and a well-matched transmission, which supports the sense that the truck is built for steady, long-haul use.

Chevrolet also backs it with a 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the truck was used hard, especially if it spent time towing or off-road.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on trucks that may have been used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Focus on wear items, signs of heavy use, and whether the truck’s equipment matches the trim level you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, High Country, and the off-road-specific ZR2. The base work truck is plain but still handsome, while higher trims add more upscale styling and materials; the LT starts the move into more tech, and the LTZ and High Country bring more chrome and a more premium look. If you want the best-value balance of equipment and price, the LT is the trim to focus on.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 6.6-liter V8 gas engine with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, plus an available 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V8 with 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. Both pair with an Allison 10-speed automatic, and the diesel is described as quiet and smooth.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is optional on all trims, even the top trim, so you should verify whether a used truck has it if that matters to you.
• Infotainment: Starting on the LT trim, you get a 12.3-inch configurable gauge cluster and a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with Google built-in, Amazon Alexa, and a thoughtful menu structure.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel returned 20.3 miles per gallon in one 2WD test and 17 mpg in mixed 2WD and Auto 4WD driving.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is offered in 6 trim levels: Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• Work Truck: This is the most basic choice, and it makes sense if you want the lowest entry point and don’t need much beyond core heavy-duty capability. It’s plain but still handsome, and it gets the truck’s standard tow hooks and basic utility-focused setup.
• Custom: This trim adds a body-colored grille bar and a little more visual polish, so it’s a better fit if you want something less bare-bones without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it starts the bigger tech story, including the 12.3-inch digital cluster and 13.4-inch touchscreen. If you want the most useful mix of equipment and price, this is the one to target.
• LTZ: This trim adds more chrome and a more upscale look, making it a good step up if you want the truck to feel more premium without going all the way to the top.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with the most upscale cabin presentation and the richest materials in the lineup. It suits you if comfort and appearance matter as much as capability.
• ZR2: This is the off-road-focused trim, and it’s the one to choose if rough terrain is a priority. It blacks out the grille and is the foundation for the truck’s most serious trail hardware.

The safety package is modest on lower trims, and adaptive cruise control remains optional across the lineup, so check equipment carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,986 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $53,930, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $53,930 sits slightly below last year's $58,379.

That price movement suggests the truck has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help demand in the near term. For a future seller, it also means you may not see the same pricing strength that existed a year ago unless your truck is especially well equipped or unusually clean.

The good news is that strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when you eventually sell. Trucks with the right mix of capability, condition, and desirable equipment should still attract attention, especially if they’re accident-free and well maintained.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD safe?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD has not yet been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. GM’s Safety Seat is also mentioned as a helpful alert system, and the truck includes Buckle to Drive and Teen Driver technology.

A key caveat is that not all advanced safety features are standard, and adaptive cruise control is optional on every trim, including the top High Country. That means you should verify the exact safety equipment on any used truck you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• This year’s refresh brings better styling and a new off-road trim, pushing the truck closer to its top rival.

The bottom line: If you want the refreshed styling, stronger off-road appeal, and a used market that has softened from last year, the 2024 is the better primary choice. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can also look at older model years to save money, but you’ll give up some of the 2024’s updated appeal and equipment.
