How much does the 2024 Buick Encore GX cost?

Prices have softened 4.05% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,179 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The 2024 Buick Encore GX stands out as a smartly refreshed subcompact crossover with an updated look, an economical character, and a comfortable ride. It also offers impressive cargo space for its segment, which makes it especially useful if you want a small SUV that fits daily errands and weekend hauling without feeling oversized.

The trade-offs are that the new touchscreen underwhelms and performance could be better. Even so, the Encore GX fits you well if you want a small crossover that looks good, rides smoothly, and makes practical use of its space.

Good and great deals percentage: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Buick Encore GX is positioned as an economical, comfortable crossover with a smooth ride and practical everyday usefulness. Its powertrain is described as decent and responsive enough, and the vehicle’s simple infotainment approach may appeal if you prefer straightforward controls over a more complicated interface.

The cost side is also reassuring: buyers’ first vehicle service is free and includes an oil change, inspection, and tire rotation. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle has been maintained consistently, especially if you plan to keep it for many years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Buick Encore GX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any specific listing and confirm that the vehicle’s condition matches the seller’s description. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you’re comparing multiple trims or if the car has higher mileage, since small crossover wear can show up in the brakes, tires, suspension, and interior surfaces.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The refreshed design and premium-feeling glass panel help the cabin look upscale, but the interior still has some cheap-feeling plastics and only black or cream color options. The top Avenir trim adds its own unique grille and chrome trim, while lower trims won’t have those touches.
• Powertrain: The base setup uses a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with 137 horsepower and a CVT, while the available 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder makes 155 horsepower and pairs with a nine-speed automatic. The turbo feels more responsive, but highway passing can still take time.
• Safety package: Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard and includes lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring. Rear park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera are extra.
• Infotainment: You get an 11-inch touchscreen paired with an 8-inch digital gauge cluster under one pane of glass. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and USB-A, USB-C, a wireless charging pad, and a 120-volt outlet are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA gives the Encore GX a combined fuel rating of 30 miles per gallon in FWD with either engine, and 27 mpg with AWD and the 1.3-liter engine. In testing, it returned 31.3 miles per gallon over 363 miles.

Which 2024 Buick Encore GX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Buick Encore GX is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Sport Touring, and Avenir.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point and the best fit if you want the lowest-cost way into the Encore GX lineup. It gives you the core comfort, practicality, and standard safety equipment, but it won’t deliver the more upscale appearance touches of the higher trims.
• Sport Touring: This is the trim to consider if you want a more expressive look without moving all the way to the top of the range. It sits in the middle of the lineup and should appeal if style matters to you as much as value.
• Avenir: This is the most upscale choice, with its own unique grille and chrome trim. Buy this one if you want the most premium presentation and are willing to pay more for it.

The standard Driver Confidence safety package is included on every trim, so you don’t need to move up the lineup to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Buick Encore GX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,179 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.05% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,791, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Buick Encore GX's resale value?

The current average of $21,791 sits slightly below last year's $22,711.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you’re a future seller, you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Because the current average is still close to the year-round low, the model appears to be holding a fairly stable used-market position rather than swinging sharply. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX safe?

The 2024 Buick Encore GX earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, including five-star ratings for frontal crash and side crash, and a four-star rating in rollover.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard and includes lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring. Rear park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera are extra.

The model has not yet been rated by IIHS, so there isn’t a current crashworthiness result to weigh alongside the NHTSA scores.

Should I buy a 2024 Buick Encore GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The refreshed model brings a new look and a flashy new touchscreen.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,631, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $21,791 average.
• It offers a straightforward lineup with comfortable, practical appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the refreshed styling, updated cabin presentation, and current-market inventory depth, the 2024 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly route and still delivers the Encore GX’s core comfort-and-practicality formula.
