Used 2024 BMW X5 for Sale nearOklahoma City, OK

How much does the 2024 BMW X5 cost?

Prices have softened 9.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,464 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 BMW X5 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 BMW X5 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its smooth hybrid performance, impressive technology, and comfort. The X5 also stands out for its electric range and hands-free driving capability, which make it appealing if you want a luxury SUV that can feel efficient in everyday use without giving up driving enjoyment.

The trade-offs are clear: voice recognition technology is poor, advanced safety features are not standard, and value for money is not a strong point. Even so, the X5’s broad powertrain lineup and premium cabin help it fit buyers who want a practical luxury SUV with a more engaging character than many rivals. Good and great deals account for 37.2% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 BMW X5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with owners highlighting the X5’s smooth hybrid operation and the kind of long-term confidence that comes from a vehicle they feel good about living with. The expert review also notes that BMW includes complimentary scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership friction.

The X5’s overall dependability looks solid for used buyers, but you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and how the vehicle was equipped, since higher-spec versions can be more expensive to keep up over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with more complex equipment. Focus on how the cabin, electronics, and driver-assistance features operate in real-world use, since those are the areas most likely to affect your day-to-day satisfaction.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The X5 is available with a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine, a turbo-six plug-in hybrid powertrain, a turbocharged V8 engine, and a high-performance turbo V8 variant. The six-cylinder and plug-in hybrid models offer Sport and M Sport trim packages, and the M Sport treatment changes the look in a way that may not appeal to everyone.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a turbocharged inline six-cylinder, a turbo-six plug-in hybrid, a turbocharged V8, or a more powerful turbo V8 in the X5 M Competition. The plug-in hybrid is the standout for combining strong performance with electric-only driving capability.
• Safety package: BMW adds Highway Assistant hands-free driving assistance for 2024. It works with Assisted Driving Plus cruise control mode and can operate well in dense traffic or light high-speed traffic, but it is not standard across the lineup.
• Infotainment: The X5 uses a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel paired with a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and over-the-air software updates are included.
• Fuel efficiency: The plug-in hybrid is rated at 22 mpg in combined driving once the gasoline engine is running, and BMW says it can travel about 38 miles on electricity alone before that happens.

Which 2024 BMW X5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 BMW X5 is offered in 4 trim levels: sDrive40i, xDrive40i, xDrive50e, M60i.

Here's the short version:

• sDrive40i: This is the entry point if you want the X5 experience at the lowest starting point. It gives you the core six-cylinder formula, but you’ll want to compare it carefully against the xDrive40i if all-wheel drive matters to you.
• xDrive40i: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it keeps the satisfying turbocharged six-cylinder setup while adding xDrive all-wheel drive. If you want the most balanced version of the X5 without stepping into higher-priced performance or hybrid territory, this is the one to focus on.
• xDrive50e: This is the trim to buy if you want the most compelling mix of performance and efficiency. It is the favorite version in the expert review, and it adds plug-in hybrid capability with about 40 miles of electric-only range.
• M60i: Choose this if you want the V8 experience and stronger straight-line performance. It is the more expensive, more aggressive choice, so it makes sense mainly if you specifically want the extra power.

BMW’s Highway Assistant is a notable safety and convenience addition for 2024, but advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW X5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,464 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $50,500, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $50,500 sits slightly below last year's $55,935.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on broad market momentum alone.

The X5’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 BMW X5 safe?

The 2024 X5 earns high ratings from IIHS, although lower headlight ratings kept it from earning an IIHS safety award. It also earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW’s Highway Assistant hands-free driving assistance system is the headline safety addition for 2024. It works with Assisted Driving Plus cruise control mode and can operate smoothly in dense traffic or light high-speed traffic, but it can also behave unpredictably in heavier traffic and briefly brake without clear cause.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you should verify exactly which driver-assistance equipment is included on the specific used X5 you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds Highway Assistant and a more modern cabin layout, while keeping the X5’s engaging driving character.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $57,075, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $50,500 average.
• It adds a limited-edition anniversary model and otherwise carries forward the updated X5 formula.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it already has the updated design, strong owner satisfaction, and a softer used-market price. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and a limited-edition variant, the 2025 is the secondary path.
