Is the 2024 BMW 8 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2024 BMW 8 Series earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview describes it as a luxury grand tourer that blends strong performance with a polished, tech-rich cabin, so you get a car aimed at both relaxed cruising and engaging road manners. It also highlights available rear passenger room as a strength, which makes it especially appealing if you want a premium long-distance car with more practicality than many rivals. With 33.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 BMW 8 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a car built around comfort, performance, and a premium driving experience, which is the kind of formula many used buyers look for in a grand tourer. Its polished cabin and balanced character also point to a model that should feel substantial and well-rounded in daily use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that high depreciation and expensive options can make the car costlier to live with over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW 8 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report to confirm the car’s background and verify that the listing matches the seller’s claims. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or optional equipment that could be expensive to repair. Focus on overall condition, since a luxury grand tourer like this can be more costly to refresh if wear and tear has built up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW 8 Series?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 288 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $66,252, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW 8 Series's resale value?

The current average of $67,189 sits slightly below last year's $73,029.

That decline suggests the market has already absorbed some of the model’s depreciation, which can be helpful if you buy now and plan to sell later. A lower entry price can reduce the amount of value left to lose, especially if you choose a well-kept example. Strong condition and desirable equipment should matter more when it comes time to resell, because buyers in this segment tend to be selective.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW 8 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $59,170, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $67,189 average.
• It offers multiple body styles for broader shopper appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and buyer satisfaction, the 2024 is the better primary choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2023 is the smarter secondary path and still gives you the same upscale grand-touring character.
