Used 2024 BMW 7 Series for Sale nearNew Brunswick, NJ

How much does the 2024 BMW 7 Series cost?

Prices have softened 15.19% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 605 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 BMW 7 Series a good car?

With a 3.5/5 user rating and an expert rating of 6.67/10, the 2024 BMW 7 Series looks like a strong but imperfect flagship sedan. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Safety.

The appeal starts with a spacious, luxurious cabin and powertrain choices that are described as potent and fuel-efficient. It also gives you standout features such as a rear-seat theatre and cashmere upholstery, which fit its full-size luxury mission well.

The trade-offs are just as clear: the infotainment system is overly complex, the styling is polarizing, and the plug-in hybrid 750e brings a disjointed driving personality. If you want a high-end sedan that prioritizes performance, efficiency, and luxury features over simplicity, this one fits that brief.

Cons: Overly complex infotainment, uneven performance in PHEV form, and polarizing design.

With 35.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 BMW 7 Series reliable?

The 2024 BMW 7 Series is presented as a robust, well-engineered flagship with systems that work smoothly and reliably. BMW’s active safety and driver-assistance features are described as operating unobtrusively, and the car’s crash structures are said to be robust.

The performance side also points to a generally durable-feeling package, with precise steering, relatively little body roll, and an air suspension setup that helps the car feel composed. The plug-in hybrid 750e adds complexity, though, and its brake and throttle transitions around town can feel inconsistent.

BMW’s systems are described as working very well, but the 750e’s added hardware and the car’s overall complexity mean long-term ownership risk is higher if you want a simpler used luxury sedan.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW 7 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-spec or plug-in hybrid example. Focus on how the cabin electronics, driver-assistance features, and powertrain behave in real use, since this model’s complexity is part of the ownership experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 740i is the entry point, while the 760i adds the V8 and more luxury-car options; the 750e brings plug-in hybrid hardware. Base versions can leave some desirable driver-assistance equipment as extras.
• Powertrain: The 740i uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six with 375 horsepower, the 760i uses a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 536 hp, and the 750e pairs the six-cylinder with an electric motor for 483 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: BMW includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, adaptive headlamps, parking sensors, safe exit warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keep assist. Premium and Driving Assistance Professional packages add surround view monitoring, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, automated parking assist, partially automated active driving assistant, and highway assistant.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses a 12.3-inch driver display and a 14.9-inch infotainment screen, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto included. The system is touchscreen-driven, and the software remains complicated despite the update.
• Fuel efficiency: The 750e is rated at 65 MPGe and 25 mpg combined, while the 740i returns 28 mpg combined and the 760i returns 20 mpg combined.

Which 2024 BMW 7 Series trim should I buy?

The 2024 BMW 7 Series is offered in 4 trim levels: 740i, 740i xDrive, 750e xDrive, 760i xDrive.

Here's the short version:

• 740i: This is the least expensive way into the lineup, and it gives you the core 7 Series experience with the turbocharged inline-six, rear-wheel drive, and strong efficiency. It makes sense if you want the flagship cabin and don’t need all-wheel drive or the extra hardware of the pricier trims.
• 740i xDrive: This is the best-value trim. It adds all-wheel drive and remains the most balanced choice if you want the 7 Series’ luxury, performance, and efficiency without stepping into the more expensive plug-in hybrid or V8 models.
• 750e xDrive: Choose this if you want the plug-in hybrid’s extra power and electric driving capability. It’s quick and efficient, but it also costs more and is fussier to drive, so it suits buyers who will actually plug it in.
• 760i xDrive: This is the choice for maximum performance and the most lavish equipment. It brings the V8 and the most vigorous driving experience, but it’s the most expensive route and makes the most sense only if you want the top-end version.

BMW’s best driver-assistance systems are bundled in the Premium package and the Driving Assistance Professional Package, so check whether the example you’re considering has those options.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW 7 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 605 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.19% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $67,580, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW 7 Series's resale value?

The current average of $67,580 sits slightly below last year's $79,683.

That drop suggests the market has already moved lower on this model year, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means you should expect depreciation pressure to remain a factor, especially if your car is heavily optioned or if you choose the more expensive trims.

The good news is that the 7 Series still has strong flagship appeal, so well-kept examples with desirable equipment should remain easier to position than stripped or poorly optioned ones. If you buy smart now, you may be able to limit some of the resale hit later.

Is the 2024 BMW 7 Series safe?

The 2024 BMW 7 Series has not yet been crash-tested by either IIHS or NHTSA, but BMW says its crash structures are robust.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW equips the 7 Series with forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, adaptive headlamps, parking sensors, safe exit warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keep assist. If you want more advanced capability, the Premium package adds surround view monitoring, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and automated parking assist, while the Driving Assistance Professional Package adds partially automated active driving assistant and highway assistant with limited hands-free capability.

The main caveat is that the best driver-assistance features cost extra, so you’ll want to verify the option content on any used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW 7 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.19% compared with last year.
• BMW added the plug-in hybrid 750e and lightly updated the infotainment system for this year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $61,069, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $67,580 average.
• It blends comfort, luxury, and performance with a great ride and strong handling.

The bottom line: If you want the newer powertrain mix and updated infotainment, the 2024 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up the newer-year changes, the 2023 is the smarter value play.
