The 2024 Audi A5 Sportback combines the dynamic refinement of the A5 Coupe with a four-door fastback layout that provides easier access to the rear seats and more cargo space than the coupe variant. ## What’s New for the 2024 Audi A5 Sportback For the 2024 model year, there are more standard features to be found in the A5 Sportback. It now comes standard with parking sensors, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and a heated steering wheel. ## Design The A5 Sportback features a menacing grille, flanked by angular LED headlights. The Sportback comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels and is available with 19-inch alloy wheels. ## Powertrain The base engine in the A5 Sportback is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This is found in the TFSI 40, and it makes 201 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. The upgraded TFSI 45 also features a 2.0-liter turbo-four, but this one is tuned out to 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). The TFSI 45 can get from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. EPA fuel economy estimates for the 2024 Audi A5 Sportback are 26 mpg city, 35 highway, and 30 combined. The S Line trim returns fuel economy of 24 mpg city, 32 highway, and 27 combined. The A5’s powertrain requires premium fuel. ## Interior Standard features on the A5 Sportback include tri-zone automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and leather upholstery. Available features include ventilated front seats, driver’s seat memory settings, and remote keyless entry. The A5 Sportback provides 21.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 35 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. This generous cargo space is accessed via a standard power rear hatch. ## Technology The A5 Sportback features an intuitive 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. It is available with wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system, and a fully digital instrument panel, which Audi calls the “Virtual Cockpit.” ## Safety A number of driver-assistance features come as standard equipment on the A5 Sportback, including automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and front and rear parking sensors. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are both optional on the Premium and standard on the Premium Plus and Prestige trims. The Premium Plus also adds a 360-degree parking camera system. Other available safety tech includes traffic-sign recognition, a head-up display, and safe-exit assist, which alerts occupants to approaching traffic before exiting the vehicle. ## Pricing At the time of this writing, the 2024 Audi A5 Sportback has a base MSRP of $45,500 for the 40 Premium and $47,700 for the 45 Premium. The 40 Premium Plus starts at $49,700 and the 45 Premium Plus starts at $51,800. The 40 Prestige starts art $55,000 and the range-topping 45 Prestige starts at $56,250.
