Used 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge for Sale nearHouston, TX

How much does the 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge cost?

Prices have softened 9.81% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 257 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge a good car?

The 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge earns an expert rating of 6.7/10.

The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.

It stands out as a funky, fun all-electric luxury SUV with a stylish design and engaging driving dynamics, and it is also described as comfortable. That makes it a strong fit if you want an EV that feels distinctive and enjoyable rather than purely practical.

The trade-offs are clear: its electric range is unimpressive, cargo space is limited, and the infotainment system depends on internet connectivity. Those compromises matter most if you need maximum versatility or expect seamless tech in every situation.

There are 38.1% good and great deals in the market, which suggests you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge reliable?

The 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge is framed around Volvo’s emphasis on safety, and the expert review describes it as solidly built with a sturdy, substantial cabin feel. Its performance is immediate and quiet, and the one-pedal driving setup can make daily use feel smoother once you get used to it.

The infotainment system is powered by Google, with integrated Google Maps, Google Assistant, and over-the-air software updates that can add features over time. Volvo also includes up to four years of data access for the built-in Google features, plus Wi-Fi hotspots for passengers.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the limited range and internet-dependent features can become more noticeable as the vehicle ages and your needs grow.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on an EV where battery condition and charging behavior matter. Focus on how the vehicle has been charged, whether it has spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging, and whether the cabin tech and driver-assistance features operate as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keep assist, while the midgrade trim adds a surround-view camera system and the top trim adds adaptive cruise control.
• Powertrain: It uses a 78-kWh battery pack with two electric motors and all-wheel drive, producing 402 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and a Volvo On Call button for emergencies and roadside service.
• Infotainment: A nine-inch touchscreen is standard, along with wireless charging and Apple CarPlay; Android Auto is not yet available, and over-the-air updates are supported.
• Range & charging: EPA range is 223 miles, usable battery capacity is 78 kWh, and DC fast charging can take the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in 37 minutes.
• Battery health: Check battery state-of-health, confirm the car has been charged in a normal mix of home and public charging, and review how much of the battery warranty remains before you buy.

Which 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge trim should I buy?

The 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge is offered in 3 trim levels: Core, Plus, Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point, and it gives you the standard safety and tech basics, but it leaves out the extra convenience and driver-assistance equipment found higher up.
• Plus: This is the best-value trim if you want the added surround-view camera system without jumping all the way to the top model.
• Ultimate: This is the one to choose if you want the most complete package, especially because it adds adaptive cruise control, a more efficient heat pump, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 257 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.81% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,890, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge's resale value?

The current average of $29,640 sits slightly below last year's $32,862.

That price movement suggests the model has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help you enter the market at a lower cost. For a future seller, though, it also means you should expect a softer resale environment than a year ago.

If you buy well now, the lower entry price can help cushion depreciation later. If you plan to resell soon, the recent decline means you should be especially careful about overpaying today.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge safe?

The 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge earns the IIHS's highest score of "Good" in all crash tests it conducted.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and a Volvo On Call button for emergencies and roadside service. The midgrade trim adds a surround-view camera system, and the top trim adds adaptive cruise control.

One caveat is that the safety tech can occasionally produce false alarms on curvy roads, though the warning in testing did not activate the brakes.

Should I buy a 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.81% compared with last year.
• The 2023 stands out for stylish design, fun driving dynamics, and a competitive safety-focused luxury-EV package.

Consider the 2022 if:

• It offers the same core XC40 Recharge formula with standard all-wheel drive and no major changes.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the current-year used market and a softer price than last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2022 is worth a look because it delivers the same basic EV character and safety-first appeal.
