How much does the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas cost?

Prices have softened 7.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,145 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas a good car?

With a user rating of 3/5, the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas looks like a practical choice rather than a standout all-around performer. It stands out as a three-row midsize SUV that prioritizes space, practicality, and a clean, European-flavored design, and it was praised for its impressive interior room, especially in the second and third rows, along with refined driving dynamics. That makes it appealing if you want a family-friendly SUV that feels more polished than purely utilitarian. The market also shows 41.4% of listings as good or great deals, which supports a favorable shopping environment.

Is the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas reliable?

The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas benefits from the broader updates Volkswagen gave it in 2021, and the source notes that cars built from 2021 have been relatively trouble-free. It also retains the practical strengths that helped define the Atlas from the start, including straightforward usability and a cabin built for everyday family use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you avoid examples with unresolved transmission or electrical issues from earlier production history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Volkswagen Atlas?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the drivetrain, electrical systems, and overall cabin condition. Because the Atlas is a family SUV, pay close attention to wear in the second and third rows, storage areas, and any signs of heavy use. A clean history report and a careful test drive matter most if you want to avoid hidden repair costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Volkswagen Atlas?

This looks like a buyer-friendly market, with plenty of inventory and a meaningful share of listings priced competitively.

• Deal availability: 41.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,145 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,236, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas's resale value?

The current average of $28,236 sits slightly below last year's $30,603.

That price movement suggests the Atlas has become more affordable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you own one, strong condition and a clean history will matter more when you go to resell. For future sellers, the current market points to steady demand, but not a premium pricing environment.

Should I buy a 2023 Volkswagen Atlas or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 41.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.73% compared with last year.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $24,367, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $28,236 average.
• It emphasizes roomy, family-first practicality.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $31,083, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $28,236 average.
• It adds more power and standard equipment.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and everyday usefulness, the 2023 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 is the better value play, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer update and can stretch for it.
