Yes — the 4.75/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2023 Highlander fits well if you want a practical midsize SUV that prioritizes comfort and versatility over excitement. It offers strong utility, up to 84.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded down, and standard tech like an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. Is the 2023 Toyota Highlander reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Highlander’s overview emphasizes reliability, comfort, and everyday usefulness, along with a strong safety reputation. It is built for buyers who want a dependable family SUV that handles commuting, errands, and road trips without much drama. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about complexity and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by family-duty mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Highlander?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still review the history report carefully, because accident-free status is only one part of the picture. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the brakes, tires, suspension, and cabin condition, since family SUVs often show wear in those areas first. Focus on how well the vehicle has been maintained and whether the interior, cargo area, and electronics match the mileage and asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Highlander?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,126 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,298, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $35,146 sits slightly below last year's $36,439.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now if you plan to keep the vehicle for several years. For a future seller, the current softness means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and maintenance history than on market momentum alone. Well-kept examples should still hold appeal because the Highlander remains a practical, family-friendly SUV with broad shopper demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $32,145, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $35,146 average.
• It emphasizes the basics buyers need most.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model year with a softer market and strong owner satisfaction, the 2023 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2022 is the smarter secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition with a clean history.
