Is the 2023 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Tesla Model Y earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the fast acceleration, easy charging, and spacious interior, and the model’s compact luxury crossover layout gives you SUV practicality with a minimalist Tesla cabin. That makes it a strong fit if you want generous cargo room, a front trunk, and a rear hatch in an EV that still feels quick and modern. With 28.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise centered on performance, technology, comfort, and easy charging. That kind of repeat positive feedback matters for used buyers because it suggests the vehicle can be a trouble-free long-term choice if you find one that has been maintained well. Still, you should pay close attention to condition and history so you can reduce the risk of buying a used EV with hidden issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a thorough inspection of the battery-related systems, charging equipment, and overall condition. Because the Model Y relies heavily on its touchscreen and electronic controls, make sure everything functions properly and that the cabin electronics respond as expected. You should also pay close attention to tire wear, ride quality, and any signs that the vehicle has been used hard or repaired after damage.

• Deal availability: 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,719 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.34% year-over-year.

If you find a listing below $30,518, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $33,794 sits slightly above last year's $31,192.

That upward move suggests the market has remained supportive of this model year, which can help if you plan to sell later. Strong demand and a healthy listing pool can keep pricing resilient, especially when buyers continue to value the Model Y’s range, cargo space, and EV convenience. If you buy well now, you may be able to preserve more of your value when it’s time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

The bottom line: The 2023 is the right path if you want a well-liked Model Y with strong owner satisfaction, solid inventory, and a proven mix of range, space, and performance.
