Used 2023 Subaru WRX for Sale nearNew Orleans, LA

How much does the 2023 Subaru WRX cost?

Prices have softened 2.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,266 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2023 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Subaru WRX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The WRX is positioned as a rally-inspired sport compact with a performance-first personality, and Subaru’s own summary emphasizes its enthusiast roots and current focus on driving enjoyment. It stands out for stylish design, great handling, and the availability of a manual transmission, which makes it especially appealing if you want an engaging all-wheel-drive sedan.

The tradeoffs are real: the expert notes call out unintuitive technology and poor value for money, and the cabin gives up cargo space to rivals. Even so, the WRX’s 35.3% good-or-great deal share suggests there are still worthwhile listings if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The WRX’s current-generation formula is built around a turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer engine, standard all-wheel drive, and a setup that prioritizes confident road manners over flash. Expert notes describe it as quiet and comfortable enough for daily driving, while still feeling composed on twisty roads thanks to its grip and chassis balance.

Its performance character is also backed by the drivetrain’s predictable acceleration and the continued availability of a manual transmission. Subaru’s maintenance coverage includes a three-year, 36,000-mile basic warranty and a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty, which helps support ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s enthusiast focus can mean harder use than a typical commuter sedan, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Subaru WRX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on wear items, signs of modification, and overall condition, especially if the car was driven hard. Pay close attention to the cabin tech and trim equipment so you know exactly which version you’re getting.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base models get 17-inch wheels and a two-screen setup, while higher trims move to 18-inch wheels and a larger single touchscreen; GT models add Recaro Performance Design front seats, eight-way power adjustment for the driver, and Ultrasuede upholstery.
• Powertrain: The WRX uses a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine with 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It comes with standard all-wheel drive and a six-speed manual, while the CVT is optional on the base, Premium, and Limited trims and standard on the GT.
• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight system is available only with the CVT and adds adaptive cruise control, automated lane-centering, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic braking, and steering-responsive headlights are also available.
• Infotainment: Base models use dual 7-inch touchscreens, while Premium and higher trims get an 11.6-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The WRX is rated at 22 mpg combined with the manual transmission and 21 mpg combined with the CVT. Subaru recommends 93-octane fuel.

Which 2023 Subaru WRX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Subaru WRX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Premium, Limited, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the value play if you want the WRX experience at the lowest entry point. You still get the turbocharged engine, standard all-wheel drive, a manual transmission, and the core performance character, but you give up the larger touchscreen and some of the nicer cabin upgrades found higher up.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 11.6-inch portrait touchscreen while keeping the WRX’s core enthusiast hardware intact. If you want a better tech experience without jumping too far in price, this is the trim to focus on.
• Limited: Choose this if you want more comfort and safety-oriented equipment, including the available upgraded headlights and additional available driver-assistance features. It makes sense if you want a more polished daily driver and are willing to pay for it.
• GT: This is the most feature-rich version, with Recaro Performance Design front seats, Ultrasuede trim, electronically controlled dampers, and drive mode select. It suits you best if you want the most upscale and adjustable WRX, but it is also the priciest.

EyeSight is available only with the CVT, so if that driver-assistance suite matters to you, trim and transmission choice need to line up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Subaru WRX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,266 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,211, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $28,008 sits slightly below last year's $28,791.

That softer pricing suggests the WRX is not currently in a rising-price phase, which can help you as a buyer but may temper near-term resale upside if you plan to sell soon. For future sellers, the current market indicates you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than broad appreciation.

The WRX’s enthusiast appeal still helps support demand, especially because it combines all-wheel drive, a manual transmission, and a performance image that many shoppers actively seek out. Well-kept examples should remain easier to move than ordinary compact sedans with less distinctive character.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Subaru WRX safe?

The 2023 Subaru WRX earns top "Good" scores in all crash tests completed so far from IIHS, and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, including five stars in frontal, side, and rollover crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Subaru’s EyeSight safety system is available only with the CVT and includes adaptive cruise control, automated lane-centering, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Other available safety features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic braking, and steering-responsive headlights.

One caveat is that the standard headlights were rated "Acceptable," while the available headlights on Limited and GT models earned a "Good" rating, so trim choice affects the lighting package you get.

Should I buy a 2023 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Subaru says there are no changes for 2023, so you’re getting the current WRX formula without waiting for a redesign.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,776, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $28,008 average.
• It offers a strong mix of performance and all-weather practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the current WRX formula and are shopping the market as it stands today, the 2023 is the cleaner choice because pricing has softened and inventory is healthy. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2022 is the better value path, especially if you find one in strong condition with the equipment you want.
