Used 2023 RAM 2500 for Sale nearGarland, TX

How much does the 2023 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 7.71% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,781 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 RAM 2500 a good car?

Generally — the 2023 RAM 2500 earns 4.2/5 from owners and 7.5/10 from experts. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its power, comfort, and usefulness for towing and utility, and they also like the technology and luxury touches. The truck’s spacious, comfortable cabin is another recurring positive theme. In context, that fits a heavy-duty pickup aimed at buyers who want serious capability without giving up day-to-day livability.

The main trade-offs are a flimsy column shifter and difficult entry and exit, while the turbodiesel engine option is expensive. Even so, the model’s mix of strength, comfort, and utility gives it broad appeal. Good and great deals account for 31.5% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.2/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a truck that feels solid, dependable, and well suited to long-term use, especially for towing and utility work. The expert evaluation also describes it as a capable, refined heavy-duty truck that can handle demanding use while remaining comfortable. Ram’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is making sure any truck you consider has been maintained carefully, especially if it has seen hard towing or off-road use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on every candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing or off-road driving. Focus on wear items, cabin condition, and any signs that the truck has lived a harder life than the odometer suggests. If you’re comparing listings, pay close attention to equipment differences that affect daily usability and trailering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Rebel has a crew-cab configuration with a 6-foot, 4-inch cargo bed, a Rebel-specific grille, 20-inch wheels, and a more aggressive blacked-out look. It also skips the Power Wagon’s graphics, 17-inch wheels, and integrated Warn winch, so you should weigh appearance and off-road hardware against the features you actually need.
• Powertrain: The standard 6.4-liter V8 makes 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and 4WD. A standard-output 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six is also available, making 370 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque with a six-speed automatic, but it is a pricey upgrade.
• Safety package: Ram offers automatic high-beam headlights, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking including for trailer brakes, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The truck also offers blind-spot cameras and a digital rearview mirror, but crash-test ratings don’t exist.
• Infotainment: Every Ram 2500 has Uconnect 5, and the test truck used a 12-inch touchscreen in portrait orientation. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L, and navigation are included, and the system also supports a 12-inch digital instrumentation panel with gauge and menu tile display configurations.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA doesn’t provide fuel economy estimates for heavy-duty trucks, but the test model’s trip computer showed 19.1 mpg on mostly highway driving, 16.1 mpg on a mountain route, and 14.7 mpg off-road. The 6.4-liter V8 returned 10.3 mpg on the same route and under the same conditions.

Which 2023 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2023 RAM 2500 is offered in 1 trim level: Rebel.

Here's the short version:

The Rebel is the clear choice if you want the 2500’s off-road-focused hardware, strong towing ability, and upscale cabin feel in one package. It adds the aggressive styling, 20-inch wheels, off-road tires, skid plates, locking rear differential, and available diesel power that define this truck’s character. It also benefits from the available camera and trailering tech, which makes it easier to live with than a more stripped-down heavy-duty truck.

Close attention should go to the safety equipment, since Ram offers a broad ADAS suite and the test truck had it all.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 RAM 2500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,781 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.71% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $47,986, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $48,139 sits slightly below last year's $52,158.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can work against future sellers if depreciation continues at the same pace. On the other hand, a truck with strong capability and broad appeal can still hold buyer interest better than a less versatile alternative. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 RAM 2500 safe?

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ram offers a broad ADAS suite on this truck, including automatic high-beam headlights, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking including for trailer brakes, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The truck also adds blind-spot cameras and a digital rearview mirror for better visibility around the trailer.

Crash-test ratings don’t exist for this truck, so you should lean more heavily on the available driver-assistance tech and your own inspection of the vehicle’s condition. If safety matters most, make sure the specific listing includes the full suite of available aids.

Should I buy a 2023 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model year brings a strong mix of off-road capability, a powerful turbodiesel option, and a spacious, comfortable cabin.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong capability and a more refined feel, the 2023 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 offers a compelling balance of value, comfort, and equipment.
