How much does the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder cost?

Prices have softened 7.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,515 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 4.67/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, comfortable interior, and especially the second-row seating. The sound system also comes up as a recurring strength, and the Pathfinder’s roomy cabin and usable third row make it a practical family SUV.

The trade-offs are a high starting price, a confusing shifter design, and ride quality that can feel uneven depending on the version you choose. For shoppers who want a three-row SUV that emphasizes comfort, space, and everyday usefulness, the Pathfinder fits that brief well.

The market also looks supportive, with 40.3% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling SUV with comfortable seating, a strong sound system, and a cabin that many shoppers seem happy to live with over time. The review summary also highlights good power and utility, along with off-road capability that some owners appreciate.

From the expert side, the Pathfinder is described as smooth and quiet in normal driving, with an automatic transmission that generally behaves well. Nissan also backs it with a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, which adds some reassurance for used buyers.

For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the Pathfinder’s quirks and ride balance will suit your daily routine.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Nissan Pathfinder?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a trim with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior damage, and whether the features you want are actually present on the specific vehicle you’re looking at.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim includes 18-inch alloy wheels, manually adjustable seats, cloth upholstery, push-button start, remote keyless entry, tri-zone automatic climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen. Higher trims add comfort and convenience features, while the Platinum brings upgraded leather upholstery, 20-inch wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, ventilated front seats, and a fully digital instrument panel.
• Powertrain: The Pathfinder uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. The Rock Creek version is tuned to 295 hp and 270 lb-ft, and it adds standard AWD.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward and reverse collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. SV adds ProPilot Assist with lane centering and adaptive cruise control, while SL adds front parking sensors, a 360-degree parking monitor, and traffic-sign recognition.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SL, Rock Creek, and Platinum get a 9-inch screen, and SL also adds wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless device charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The Pathfinder returns 21 mpg city, 27 highway, and 23 combined. SL and Platinum 4WD trims return 20 mpg city, 25 highway, and 22 combined, while the Rock Creek is rated at 20 mpg city, 23 highway, and 21 combined.

Which 2023 Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Rock Creek, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the core Pathfinder experience with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tri-zone climate control, and the basic comfort and convenience features most shoppers expect. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup.
• SV: This trim adds heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, remote start, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and additional driver assistance features. It looks like the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds meaningful everyday comfort and tech without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• SL: This is the step up if you want a more upscale cabin and more convenience. You get leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, wireless device charging, a larger 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, front parking sensors, a 360-degree parking monitor, and traffic-sign recognition.
• Rock Creek: This is the rugged choice, with off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, unique styling, LED fog lights, a heavy-duty roof rack, standard four-wheel drive, a water-repellent interior, and extra towing capability. It suits you best if you want the tougher look and the added trail-ready hardware.
• Platinum: This is the most luxurious version, with upgraded leather upholstery, 20-inch wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, ventilated front seats, a fully digital instrument panel, and a power tilt-telescoping steering wheel. It’s the pick if you want the most features and don’t mind paying for them.

The safety package expands as you move up the lineup, with ProPilot Assist on SV and additional parking and traffic-sign features on SL.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Pathfinder?

This looks like a buyer-friendly moment if you’re shopping carefully, because pricing has softened and there’s enough inventory to compare multiple examples.

• Deal availability: 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,515 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,123, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The current average of $30,123 sits slightly below last year's $32,600.

That price movement suggests the Pathfinder has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stays steady. A softer current price can also make the vehicle more attractive to used buyers, which supports demand when it’s time to resell.

The Pathfinder’s broad appeal as a family-focused three-row SUV should help it remain relevant to shoppers who want space, comfort, and useful features. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder safe?

The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance features include forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward and reverse collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. ProPilot Assist comes on the SV trim and adds lane centering and adaptive cruise control, while the SL trim adds front parking sensors, a 360-degree parking monitor, and traffic-sign recognition.

The safety setup is strong overall, but some of the more advanced features are reserved for higher trims. That means you’ll want to check carefully if you’re comparing a base model against a better-equipped version.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds the Rock Creek edition, giving you a more rugged option with extra towing capability and off-road hardware.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $24,717, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $30,123 average.
• It offers a rugged look with thoughtful features and safety tech.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year pricing context, the Rock Creek addition, and a strong mix of space, tech, and safety, the 2023 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers much of the Pathfinder formula.
