How much does the 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class cost?

Prices have softened 5.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 754 listings available, which gives you a meaningful but still limited pool to compare.

Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class a good car?

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class stands out because it combines an unmistakable military-derived shape with the kind of luxury and technology you expect from a modern Mercedes. Its appeal is rooted in that contrast: it still looks like a rugged off-roader, yet it is also positioned as a high-end status symbol.

It remains capable off pavement, and its iconic styling is a major part of the draw if you want something that feels both exclusive and instantly recognizable. For buyers who value image, capability, and luxury in equal measure, it delivers a very distinctive package. 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class reliable?

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is presented as a luxury SUV with strong performance, modern tech, and old-school presence. It also comes with the kind of expensive ownership profile you should expect from a limited-production, high-end model.

For used buyers, the long-term risk is less about basic appeal and more about the cost of keeping one in top condition over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re serious about, especially if the price looks unusually attractive. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can evaluate wear, maintenance history, and any signs of cosmetic or mechanical neglect. Focus on overall condition, because a vehicle in this price range can be expensive to refresh if it has been poorly maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 754 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $165,441, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class's resale value?

The current average of $165,441 sits slightly below last year's $175,340.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy with less pressure than a year ago. For a future seller, it also means resale value remains strong in absolute terms, but you should not expect this model to behave like a bargain SUV. Its limited supply and strong desirability help support pricing, even when the market softens.

Should I buy a 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.65% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the right path if you want the current-year balance of price, availability, and condition. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point, but the 2023 still offers a strong mix of inventory and market softness that makes it worth targeting first.
