How much does the 2023 Lucid Air cost?

Prices have softened 20.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 409 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Lucid Air a good car?

The 2023 Lucid Air earns a 7.2/10 expert rating and stands out as an ambitious first effort from a new luxury EV brand. It combines a stylish design, spacious interior, and impressive electric range, and it comes across as a polished, promising entry in the luxury EV space.

The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

The main trade-offs are technology bugs and an aggravating lane-keeping system, and the air conditioning can be ineffective on hot days. For your use case, that means the Air makes the most sense if you want a luxury EV sedan with strong range and a premium cabin, and you can live with some early-generation rough edges.

36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Lucid Air reliable?

The 2023 Lucid Air is presented as a thoughtfully engineered electric luxury sedan, but its technology issues keep it from feeling fully sorted. The expert review also points to a car that is quiet, quick, and comfortable, which supports the idea that the core vehicle is strong even if the software and controls need work.

The performance write-up says the Air is engineered to maximize interior room and passenger comfort without giving up power or capability, and it highlights strong range and charging performance depending on version. On the cost side, Lucid’s home charging setup is framed as the better ownership move, especially if you want to avoid public-charging hassles.

For used buyers, the long-term risk is mostly about living with a first-generation EV’s software and systems maturity rather than basic mechanical weakness.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lucid Air?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been used heavily or charged frequently away from home. Focus on cabin electronics, climate performance, and how consistently the driver-assistance systems behave, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day ownership.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, and Sapphire. The Pure trim is the key value play because it lowers the entry price, while the test car’s options show how much equipment can be layered on top of it.
• Powertrain: The test car used a dual-motor AWD setup with 480 hp, 384 miles of maximum range, and 121 MPGe. The broader lineup can deliver much more power and range depending on version.
• Safety package: DreamDrive is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear cross-traffic alert, rear pedestrian detection with automatic braking, distracted and drowsy driver alert, traffic sign recognition, parking sensors, and semi-autonomous parking assist. DreamDrive Premium adds a surround-view camera system and blind-spot cameras, while DreamDrive Pro adds Highway Assist.
• Infotainment: The Air uses a 34-inch Glass Cockpit display with 5K resolution, plus a 12.3-inch Pilot Panel. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay, OTA updates, and Android Auto is coming soon through an over-the-air update.
• Range & charging: The test car delivered 384 miles of maximum range and could accept up to 200 kW of charging power, with Lucid saying it can add 200 miles of range in around 15 minutes. Lucid also says the Connected Home Charging Station can provide up to 19.2 kW on a 100-amp breaker.
• Battery health: For a used EV, you should ask for battery state-of-health information, review charging habits, and confirm whether the car spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. Also check how much of the battery warranty remains so you know your long-term exposure.

Which 2023 Lucid Air trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lucid Air is offered in 4 trim levels: Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, and Sapphire.

Here's the short version:

• Pure: This is the best-value starting point because it brings the Air’s lower entry price and still gives you the core luxury-EV experience. If you want the most accessible way into the lineup, this is the trim to target first.
• Touring: Choose this if you want to move up from the entry trim and expect a more richly equipped Air without jumping all the way to the upper end of the range.
• Grand Touring: This is the better fit if you want the strongest blend of long-range luxury and higher-end equipment, and you’re willing to pay more for it.
• Sapphire: This is the halo trim for buyers who want the most extreme version of the Air and are shopping for exclusivity rather than value.

DreamDrive is standard, while DreamDrive Premium and DreamDrive Pro are available if you want more advanced driver-assistance hardware.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lucid Air?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find meaningful value.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 409 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,593, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lucid Air's resale value?

The current average of $38,593 sits slightly below last year's $48,632.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to resell later, the same trend means you should be realistic about depreciation and avoid overpaying for a car that is still early in its lifecycle.

For a future seller, the upside is that a lower entry price can make the car easier to move if it remains well kept and properly documented. The downside is that first-generation luxury EVs can be sensitive to software reputation and market perception, so condition and equipment matter a lot.

Is the 2023 Lucid Air safe?

The Lucid Air earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Lucid’s DreamDrive is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear cross-traffic alert, rear pedestrian detection with automatic braking, distracted and drowsy driver alert, traffic sign recognition, parking sensors, and semi-autonomous parking assist. DreamDrive Premium adds a surround-view camera system and blind-spot cameras, while DreamDrive Pro adds Highway Assist.

The caveat is that the lane-keeping and lane-centering tech behaves in strange and unexpected ways, and the expert review says it can become unsettling enough that you may want to turn it off. That makes the Air’s safety story more about strong hardware and a broad feature set than flawless real-world driver-assistance behavior.

Should I buy a 2023 Lucid Air or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.64% compared with last year.
• It’s the first year with the more affordable Pure trim, which makes the lineup more accessible.

Consider the 2024 if:

• The 2024 adds drastic price cuts and a new Sapphire trim with extreme performance.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of lower pricing and broad availability, the 2023 is the smarter starting point. If you’re chasing the newest updates and the most extreme performance version, the 2024 is the better path, though price-sensitive buyers should still focus on the 2023.
