How much does the 2023 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 6.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,885 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Lexus RX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

The 2023 RX is a redesigned two-row midsize luxury SUV that stays focused on refinement while adding meaningful technology and dynamic upgrades. It is aimed at you if you want a reliable, refined, safe, and stylish luxury crossover with a comfortable cabin and premium interior materials.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the standard suspension can feel unsettled on imperfect pavement, cargo space is limited, and the head-up display integration is poor. Even so, the RX’s balance of comfort, premium materials, and modern features makes it a strong fit if you value luxury and everyday usability over sporty driving character.

38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 RX is described as a reliable, refined, safe, and stylish luxury crossover, and its redesign keeps that core identity intact. Lexus also emphasizes advanced driver assistance and a polished cabin, which supports the impression of a well-engineered ownership experience.

Its turbocharged 2.4-liter engine is presented as a good choice, with stronger torque than the outgoing V6 and slightly better fuel economy. Lexus also notes that the RX 350 AWD should return 24 mpg in combined driving, while the FWD version should return 25 mpg, though real-world testing came in lower.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a premium feature set can mean more complexity to inspect carefully before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lexus RX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on ride quality, cabin condition, and whether the technology and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RX 350 is offered in Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, and F Sport Handling trim levels. The cabin features fewer buttons and knobs than before, with digital instrumentation and a 9.8-inch or 14-inch touchscreen display, while a head-up display is available. Base versions use NuLuxe artificial leather, and higher trims can add genuine leather, simulated suede, real wood, and aluminum trim.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Lexus says the AWD version is quicker than the FWD version, and the turbo engine delivers better fuel economy than the outgoing V6.
• Safety package: Every 2023 RX gets Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which includes motorcycle detection, evasive steering assistance, intersection turn assistance with front cross-traffic alert, and curve speed reduction with adaptive cruise control. It also adds Proactive Driving Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and Advanced Park Assist. Some HUD-equipped models have unmarked adaptive cruise controls and HUD-based warnings that can be harder to read with polarized sunglasses.
• Infotainment: Lexus Interface uses a 9.8-inch or 14-inch touchscreen and includes wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, satellite radio, connected services, and user profiles. Digital instrumentation and digital latch door handles are standard, while a digital rearview mirror and digital key smartphone technology are available.
• Fuel efficiency: Lexus expected the RX 350 FWD to average 25 mpg in combined driving and the AWD version to return 24 mpg. In testing, results were 22.5 mpg and 21.8 mpg, respectively.

Which 2023 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lexus RX is offered in 5 trim levels: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, and F Sport Handling.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point if you want the redesigned RX’s core strengths at the lowest cost. You still get the modern cabin layout, digital instrumentation, touchscreen infotainment, and Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, so it covers the essentials well.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim if you want a step up in comfort and convenience without chasing the highest price. It should make the RX feel more upscale while keeping the model’s strong balance of refinement and technology.
• Premium+: Choose this if you want a richer feature mix and are willing to pay more for it. It sits in the middle of the lineup and should appeal if you want more luxury without going all the way to the top trims.
• Luxury: This trim is for you if cabin materials and a more upscale feel matter most. The RX already has premium interior quality, and this version leans hardest into that strength.
• F Sport Handling: Pick this if you want the most composed driving experience in the lineup. It adds adaptive damping suspension and upgraded brakes, and it felt more sure-footed and secure than the Luxury trim in testing.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,885 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,853, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $44,853 sits slightly below last year's $48,058.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale values may not rebound quickly if the market stays competitive. The RX’s strong reputation for refinement, safety, and luxury should still support demand over time.

If you plan to sell later, a well-kept example with clean history and desirable equipment should be easier to move than one with visible wear or missing features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX safe?

The 2023 RX earns Top Safety Pick+ recognition from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2023 RX gets Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which includes motorcycle detection, evasive steering assistance, intersection turn assistance with front cross-traffic alert, curve speed reduction with adaptive cruise control, Proactive Driving Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and Advanced Park Assist. That gives you a broad standard safety package across the lineup.

One caveat is that some HUD-equipped models make the adaptive cruise controls and front cross-traffic warnings harder to read when you wear polarized sunglasses. The curve-speed reduction feature is also described as less predictive than ideal.

Should I buy a 2023 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign adds meaningful technology and dynamic upgrades while keeping the RX’s refined, luxury-focused character.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $38,020, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $44,853 average.
• It emphasizes comfort and refinement with a carryover setup and minimal changes.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $48,512, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $44,853 average.
• It leans harder into comfort, luxury, and fuel efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the newest redesign with strong safety, technology, and a healthy used market, the 2023 is the primary pick. If price matters most, the 2022 is the value-oriented alternative.
