Used 2023 Lexus GX for Sale nearGreensboro, NC

How much does the 2023 Lexus GX cost?

Prices have softened 2.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,385 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Lexus GX a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.8/5 owner-rated SUV with an expert score of 6/10. The standout strength is Look and feel at 7/10.

Owners consistently praise the GX for its luxurious feel, proven reliability, powerful V8 engine, off-road capability, and comfort. That lines up with the GX’s use case as a rugged luxury SUV for towing and off-road driving in style and comfort.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and outdated technology are recurring drawbacks, and the third row is cramped. If you want a traditional body-on-frame SUV with a commanding driving position and real capability, the GX fits that brief well. If you want the latest tech or the most space-efficient layout, it is less convincing.

Good and great deals account for 37.6% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Lexus GX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a proven, dependable SUV that people feel comfortable counting on for rugged use and everyday ownership. The expert review also reinforces that sense of durability by describing the GX as a traditional body-on-frame SUV with a long-running formula and a standard four-wheel-drive system built for snow, mud, and off-pavement driving.

Lexus also includes useful ownership-friendly touches such as three years of Lexus Enform Remote, which adds convenience over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that age-related wear and outdated hardware can matter more here than on newer rivals, so condition and maintenance history deserve extra attention.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lexus GX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on wear items, interior condition, and signs of hard use, since this SUV is often bought for towing and off-road duty. Pay close attention to whether the equipment level matches the trim and options advertised, especially on higher-priced examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim includes a 10.3-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and a real 4WD system, but it lacks some top-end driver-assistance features. Higher trims add more equipment, and the Luxury trim gets the 17-speaker Mark Levinson stereo as standard.
• Powertrain: The GX uses a 4.6-liter V8 with 301 horsepower and 329 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. It delivers strong low-end power and a 6,500-pound towing capacity, but fuel economy is a weak point.
• Safety package: Lexus equips the GX with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert, adaptive cruise control, parking assist, and automatic high beams. It is missing lane-tracing assist and road-sign recognition.
• Infotainment: The GX has a 10.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. The system is improved over the older setup, but the graphics and response feel dated compared with newer rivals.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates 15 mpg city, 19 highway, and 16 combined.

Which 2023 Lexus GX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lexus GX is offered in 4 trim levels: GX 460, Premium, Luxury, and Black Line.

Here's the short version:

• GX 460: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core GX formula: V8 power, standard 4WD, the 10.3-inch touchscreen, and the rugged capability that defines the model. It makes the most sense if you want the GX experience without paying for extras you may not need.
• Premium: This trim adds more comfort and convenience equipment, and it is the best-value choice if you want a more polished daily driver without jumping to the top of the range. It is the trim to target if you want a balanced mix of features and price.
• Luxury: This is the most upscale mainstream GX trim, and it layers on more premium equipment, including the standard Mark Levinson stereo. Choose it if you want the richest cabin experience and are willing to pay for it.
• Black Line: This limited-edition trim adds distinctive styling and the panoramic monitor as standard equipment. It suits you if you want a more exclusive look and can live with its special-edition positioning.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but the GX still misses some higher-end driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lexus GX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,385 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $54,478, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lexus GX's resale value?

The current average of $54,709 sits slightly below last year's $55,874.

That modest decline suggests the GX has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper short-term gains if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the price has held within a relatively tight range, which points to steady demand rather than a sharp drop-off. For a future seller, that usually means the GX remains a recognizable niche SUV with enough appeal to avoid a steep value collapse.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Lexus GX safe?

The 2023 Lexus GX has not been crash tested by either NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus equips the GX with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert, adaptive cruise control, parking assist, and automatic high beams. It does miss some higher-end features such as lane-tracing assist and road-sign recognition. Because the SUV’s underlying design dates back many years, you should weigh its modern driver-assistance equipment against the lack of published crash-test results.

Should I buy a 2023 Lexus GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the V8-powered, body-on-frame formula that suits towing and off-road use.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $46,788, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $54,709 average.
• It emphasizes rugged capability and towing over everyday polish.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-market availability and the GX’s traditional V8 character, the 2023 is the better target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the value play, especially if you are focused on capability more than newer features.
