The expert assessment also describes it as a strong all-arounder with long warranty coverage, which adds confidence for used buyers who want lower ownership risk. What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Telluride?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because accident-free status does not replace a full inspection. Pay close attention to interior condition, since the source notes some materials can feel cheap and owners mention areas like the manual third-row seating and steering wheel. A thorough test drive should also confirm that the tech, driver-assistance systems, and cabin features all work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige, with X-Line and X-Pro versions adding a more rugged look and capability-focused hardware. Base trims get the standard styling and equipment, while higher trims add more advanced driver-assistance features and premium cabin content.
• Powertrain: The Telluride uses a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The available AWD system adds a Lock setting, and the X-Pro setup is the most off-road-oriented version described.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Highway Drive Assist 1.5, and more. Highway Drive Assist 2.0 starts with SX trim, and SX adds additional collision-avoidance features plus a surround-view camera and Blind-Spot View Monitor.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM, navigation, Kia Connect services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, OTA updates, and Bluetooth pairing for two devices. Wireless smartphone charging, digital key capability, and a full-display mirror are available upgrades.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD model is rated at 21 mpg in combined driving, and the expert test drive returned 24.1 mpg in the X-Line and 20.4 mpg in the X-Pro during mixed use and off-road driving.

Which 2023 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Telluride is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point if you want the Telluride’s core strengths at the lowest starting price, including the standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, broad safety suite, and the family-friendly cabin layout. It makes sense if you want the basics without paying for the more advanced trim-specific driver-assistance and luxury upgrades.
• S: This trim is the better value if you want a step up in equipment without jumping too far up the price ladder. It keeps the Telluride’s comfort and tech strengths while moving you closer to the richer feature mix that makes the SUV feel more upscale.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it balances equipment and price while opening the door to more premium content and available X-Line treatment. If you want a well-equipped family SUV without going all the way to the top, this is the trim to focus on.
• SX: This is the trim to target if you want the more advanced safety and convenience features, including Highway Drive Assist 2.0 and the added collision-avoidance tech. It also brings the surround-view camera and Blind-Spot View Monitor, making it the right choice if you value driver assistance and visibility upgrades.
• SX Prestige: Choose this if you want the most upscale version of the Telluride, especially when paired with X-Line or X-Pro treatment. It is the trim for shoppers who want the fullest feature set and the most premium feel.

The safety package starts with a strong standard feature list, but SX and higher trims add the most advanced driver-assistance hardware.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Telluride?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,028 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.51% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,658, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $31,658 sits slightly below last year's $35,376.

That price movement suggests the Telluride has become more accessible on the used market, which can help future buyers but may temper short-term seller expectations. If you own one, the current pricing trend means you should be realistic about resale timing and condition. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment and strong presentation should still attract attention, especially because the model continues to have broad appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2023 Kia Telluride was unavailable for crash-test ratings when this review was published.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips every Telluride with a long list of standard safety features, including forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Highway Drive Assist 1.5, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, and Rear Occupant Alert. Highway Drive Assist 2.0 is standard starting with SX trim, and SX also adds more advanced collision-avoidance features, front parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking while parking, a surround-view camera, and Blind-Spot View Monitor. The main caveat is that crash-test ratings were unavailable in the source material.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year adds minor styling changes, new technologies, and X-Line/X-Pro trims with more off-road-oriented character.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,230, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $31,658 average.
• It adds more standard equipment and strong value.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $35,230, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $31,658 average.
• It adds minor detail updates and a more polished look.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, features, and current-market availability, the 2023 is the sweet spot. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the better value play. If you want the newest version and are willing to pay more, the 2024 is the upgrade path.
