How much does the 2023 Kia Telluride cost?

Prices have softened 10.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,808 listings available, which suggests you have meaningful inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Telluride earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 9.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfort, technology, and upscale feel, and many say it feels more luxurious than its price suggests. The Telluride also gets credit for its smooth ride and extensive feature set.

The main trade-offs are that some interior materials feel cheap, and a few owners wish the manual third-row seating and steering wheel were better executed.

For you, that means the Telluride makes the most sense if you want a refined three-row family SUV with a strong equipment list and broad appeal. Good and great deals account for 38.4% of listings, so there are still opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as comfortable, upscale, and well equipped, and the feedback points to a vehicle people feel good about keeping. The expert review also emphasizes that it is easy to recommend and that Kia backs it with a long warranty, which helps support confidence in ownership.

The Telluride’s smooth driving character and strong feature content suggest solid day-to-day dependability for used buyers. Long-term ownership risk looks manageable, especially if you verify maintenance history and overall condition before buying.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Telluride?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, even when the market looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on interior condition, electronics, and how well the cabin features work. It also makes sense to pay close attention to trim-specific equipment so you know exactly what you’re getting.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige trims differ in equipment, and the SX trim adds more advanced safety and parking features than lower trims.
• Powertrain: The Telluride uses a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission, and AWD is available with a Lock setting.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Highway Drive Assist 1.5, and Rear Occupant Alert. Highway Drive Assist 2.0 is standard starting with SX trim.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM, navigation, Kia Connect services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, OTA updates, and dual-device Bluetooth pairing.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD model should get 21 mpg in combined driving, and the X-Line returned 24.1 mpg in testing while the X-Pro returned 20.4 mpg.

Which 2023 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Telluride is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it still gets the standard 12.3-inch touchscreen and the full core safety suite, so it gives you the Telluride experience without chasing extras.
• S: This is the trim to watch if you want a better balance of equipment and value, since it builds on the standard setup without jumping too far in price.
• EX: This is a smart middle-ground choice if you want more comfort and convenience features while staying below the higher-end trims.
• SX: This is the best-value trim if you want the richer safety and driver-assistance content, including Highway Drive Assist 2.0 and added parking and camera features.
• SX Prestige: Choose this if you want the most upscale version of the Telluride, especially if you care most about premium feel and top-end equipment.

Safety-package upgrades start with SX trim, so that’s the key trim threshold to keep in mind.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Telluride?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,808 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,365, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $31,365 sits slightly below last year's $35,155.

That decline suggests the Telluride has become more affordable on the used market, which can help you buy in at a better price. For a future seller, the softer pricing means resale upside may be more limited than it was a year ago.

Even so, the Telluride’s strong reputation, broad appeal, and high owner satisfaction should help support demand. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment are likely to remain easier to move than less desirable alternatives.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2023 Kia Telluride earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia gives every Telluride a long list of standard safety features, including forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Highway Drive Assist 1.5, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, and Rear Occupant Alert.

Highway Drive Assist 2.0 is standard starting with SX trim, and SX models also add front parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking while parking, a surround-view camera with a forward view, and Blind-Spot View Monitor. That means lower trims miss some of the more advanced parking and visibility aids.

Crash-test ratings were unavailable in the source material, so the strongest safety takeaway here is the breadth of standard driver assistance equipment.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year adds minor styling updates, new technologies, and X-Line/X-Pro trims with more off-road attitude.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,928, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $31,365 average.
• It emphasizes strong value and more standard equipment.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $34,749, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $31,365 average.
• It keeps the formula intact with minor detail updates and a more distinctive look.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of updated features and market availability, the 2023 is the sweet spot. If price matters most, the 2022 is the value play; if you want the newest version and can pay more, the 2024 is the cleaner upgrade path.
