Used 2023 Kia Niro for Sale nearLos Angeles, CA

How much does the 2023 Kia Niro cost?

Prices have softened 1.79% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 431 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Kia Niro a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Niro earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, safety, and fuel economy, and they also highlight its spacious interior and smooth drive. That lines up with the Niro’s use case as a fuel-focused small crossover that puts efficiency first while still giving you everyday practicality. The main trade-offs are the lack of an all-wheel-drive option and some sound-system quirks, while the expert review also points to an irritating transmission and a driving feel that is less polished than you might want.

Good and great deals account for 33.4% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Kia Niro reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a reliable, dependable, and trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers describing it as a vehicle they can count on for comfort and efficiency over the long term. The expert review also supports that impression by describing the hybrid as comfortable and pleasant to drive once it settles in, with a quiet cabin and minimal vibration on rough pavement. Kia also includes a long list of standard advanced safety features, which can help reduce day-to-day ownership stress.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about whether the specific car has been maintained well and whether its transmission behavior and feature set still suit your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Niro?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a documented record. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re shopping a higher-mileage example or one with incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, especially how the drivetrain feels in normal driving and whether the cabin electronics and comfort features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX uses an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, while EX and SX move to a 10.25-inch system with navigation, a premium sound system, and satellite radio. The base trim also uses cloth upholstery, while higher trims get vegan leather, so the lower-priced version gives up some cabin polish and tech.
• Powertrain: The hybrid setup pairs a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 32kW electric motor for 139 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. It uses a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and is front-wheel drive only, with fuel economy rated at 53 mpg combined on trims without the Touring package.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind-spot monitoring with collision avoidance, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection and junction turning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, lane-following assist, driver attention warning with lead-vehicle departure alert, high beam assist, intelligent speed limit assist, a rear view camera with dynamic guidelines, and rear occupant alert. Available features include smart cruise control with stop and go, highway driving assist, and front and rear parking distance warnings.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 8 inches on the LX, while other trims get a 10.25-inch display with navigation, a premium sound system, and satellite radio. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are limited to the 8-inch system, so moving up in trim means wired smartphone connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is rated at 53 mpg combined on non-Touring trims, with city and highway ratings of 53 mpg and 54 mpg respectively. EX Touring and SX Touring models are rated at 49 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Kia Niro trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Niro is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, EX, SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and can live with the smaller 8-inch screen, cloth upholstery, and the more basic tech setup. It still gives you the Niro’s core strengths, including strong efficiency and standard safety equipment.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 10.25-inch infotainment system, navigation, a premium sound system, satellite radio, heated front seats, rear air vents, wireless smartphone charging, customizable mood lighting, and a Smart Key with push-button start. It also unlocks Kia Connect availability.
• SX: This is the pick if you want the most comfort and convenience features, including ventilated front seats, memory seats, a heated steering wheel, and an external subwoofer. It makes sense if you want the most upscale version of the Niro Hybrid.

Safety equipment is standard across the lineup, and available driver-assistance features include smart cruise control with stop and go, highway driving assist, and front and rear parking distance warnings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Niro?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 431 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.79% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,742, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Niro's resale value?

The current average of $22,652 sits slightly below last year's $23,065.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean future resale gains are limited if depreciation continues at the same pace. For a seller, the good news is that the drop has been modest rather than dramatic, so the Niro is not showing signs of a steep value collapse. Its efficiency-focused appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help keep demand steady among used-car shoppers who want low running costs.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Niro safe?

The 2023 Kia Niro earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety is a major strength here because Kia makes a long list of advanced driver-assistance features standard, including blind-spot monitoring with collision avoidance, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection and junction turning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, lane-following assist, driver attention warning with lead-vehicle departure alert, high beam assist, intelligent speed limit assist, a rear view camera with dynamic guidelines, and rear occupant alert. Available features include smart cruise control with stop and go, highway driving assist, and front and rear parking distance warnings.

One caveat is that official crash-test ratings for this model year are not yet available, so you should lean more heavily on the standard safety equipment and the vehicle’s condition when evaluating a used example.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Niro or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model brings an all-new design direction, a minimalist eco-friendly cabin, and a best-in-class 53 mpg combined hybrid rating.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Niro with strong efficiency, standard safety tech, and solid owner satisfaction, the 2023 is the one to target. If your main goal is simply to spend less, a nearby older model year may be worth considering, but you’ll be giving up some of the redesign and the latest efficiency-focused packaging.
