Used 2023 Kia Forte for Sale nearJacksonville, FL

How much does the 2023 Kia Forte cost?

Prices have softened 2.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,298 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable range of choices.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Forte earns a 4.6/5 from owners and a 6.3/10 from our experts. The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, impressive fuel economy, and comfortable ride. The Forte also gets credit for feeling reliable and fun to drive, with safety features that many shoppers appreciate.

On the trade-off side, the cabin can feel a bit cheap inside, especially in the trunk area, and the base engine is not especially strong. That lines up with the Forte’s role as an affordable compact sedan that aims to give you more for the money without pretending to be a performance car.

The Forte fits well if you want an affordable daily driver that still feels like a solid contender rather than a stripped-down budget pick. Good and great deals account for 35.3% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe the Forte as reliable and fun to drive, and they also point to its safety features as part of the appeal. That kind of feedback suggests you can count on it as a practical commuter with broad everyday appeal.

The expert review also emphasizes that the Forte feels well-built and delivers more for the money than many rivals. Kia’s generous 10-year/100,000-mile warranty adds another layer of confidence for ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright dependability and more about choosing a well-kept example, since condition and maintenance history will matter more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Forte?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any car you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing, especially if you’re comparing cars with similar prices and mileage. Focus on overall condition, because owner feedback suggests the cabin can show some cheap-feeling materials in places.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT trims add bold red accents, while the interior keeps Kia’s older layout with a touchscreen mounted atop the dash and physical climate controls below. Base-trim shoppers should note that the cabin is more traditional than many newer rivals, even if that makes the controls easier to learn.
• Powertrain: The base engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive. The GT upgrades to a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 201 hp, and it can be paired with either a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic or a six-speed manual.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and a driver attention monitor. The LXS trim can add blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic warning and a safe passenger exit system, while the GT-Line can make adaptive cruise control and pedestrian/cyclist detection available. Top GT trims include those features as standard, along with rear parking proximity sensors.
• Infotainment: Supporting trims come with an 8-inch touchscreen, while the GT-Line and above get a 10.25-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included on all models, and the GT-Line or higher adds a wireless charging pad, navigation, and a six-speaker audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The base LX is estimated at 34 mpg combined, other models with the base powertrain are rated at 32 mpg combined, the automatic GT should achieve 30 mpg, and the manual GT is estimated at 26 mpg combined city and highway driving.

Which 2023 Kia Forte trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Forte is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, LXS, GT-Line, GT.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-focused starting point, and it gives you the Forte’s core strengths without pushing the price up. It’s the best fit if you want the lowest-cost path into the model and care most about efficiency and basic everyday usability.
• LXS: This is the trim to watch if you want a smarter balance of value and safety-related equipment. It adds access to blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic warning and a safe passenger exit system, making it a strong middle-ground choice.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for shoppers who want a more upscale tech experience. You get the larger 10.25-inch display, and it can add wireless charging, navigation, and a six-speaker audio system.
• GT: This is the pick if you want the strongest performance and the most complete equipment list. It upgrades to the turbocharged engine, offers the manual transmission, and includes the more advanced safety features as standard.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that the GT trims include adaptive cruise control, pedestrian/cyclist detection, and rear parking proximity sensors as standard, while lower trims may only offer some of those features as options.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Forte?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,298 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,490, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Forte's resale value?

The current average of $17,970 sits slightly below last year's $18,348.

That softer pricing suggests the Forte is still a value-oriented buy, which can help you if you’re shopping used today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale to be shaped by condition, mileage, and trim rather than by strong price appreciation.

Because the market has eased, a clean, well-equipped Forte should remain easier to move than a rougher example. The strongest resale prospects will likely come from cars that present well and have the equipment buyers want most.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte safe?

The 2023 Kia Forte earns four-star ratings for overall, frontal, side, and rollover protection from NHTSA, while IIHS gave it its highest score of "Good" in all evaluations except the updated front moderate overlap and side impact tests, which received "Poor".

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and a driver attention monitor. The LXS trim can add blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic warning and a safe passenger exit system, while the GT-Line can make adaptive cruise control and pedestrian/cyclist detection available. Top GT trims include those features as standard, along with rear parking proximity sensors.

The main caveat is the weaker IIHS result in the updated front moderate overlap and side impact tests, which is worth weighing if crash protection is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Forte or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model combines strong value with available manual transmission and a broad mix of comfort and tech features.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $16,122, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $17,970 average.
• It brings sharper styling, updated infotainment, and newer driver-assist and collision-avoidance systems.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping case, the 2023 is the better target because it balances value, equipment, and owner satisfaction. If your main goal is to spend less up front, the 2022 is the more price-sensitive path and still brings a lot of the same practical appeal.
