How much does the 2023 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 4.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

With 7,589 listings available, you have a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Jeep Wrangler earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, fun driving experience, and customizable character. The Wrangler’s purpose-built design and multiple powertrain options also come through as recurring strengths.

The trade-offs are just as clear: limited storage space and unimpressive on-road performance are the main drawbacks. In practical terms, this is a vehicle that fits you best if you value trail ability and personality more than everyday polish.

With 37.6% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that owners feel good about keeping and counting on, especially when it comes to its core capability and overall ownership experience. The expert review also emphasizes that the Wrangler is built around a durable, purpose-driven formula with solid axles front and rear and a five-link suspension system.

That said, used buyers should still plan for the Wrangler’s usual ownership compromises and inspect carefully for wear tied to hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Wrangler?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if the Wrangler may have seen trail use. Pay close attention to signs of hard off-road driving, uneven wear, and any condition issues that could affect long-term ownership.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Some popular trims like the Sport, High Altitude, Willys Sport, and Sahara do not get locking differentials or meaty tires, so you should verify the equipment level carefully before you buy.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 285-horsepower V6, a 270-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder, a 260-horsepower diesel V6, a 470-horsepower V8, or the 4xe plug-in hybrid with two electric motors and 21 miles of all-electric range.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are standard only on the top 392 model; elsewhere, they are part of an option package. Lane-keeping assist is not offered.
• Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, while an 8.4-inch screen is available. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and over-the-air updates apply only to the Uconnect system.
• Fuel efficiency: Expect anywhere from 19 mpg combined to 23 mpg combined, with the diesel returning 25 mpg combined and the 4xe at 49 mpge combined.

Which 2023 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 1 trim level: Rubicon 392.

Here's the short version:

• Rubicon 392: This is the standout choice if you want the most extreme factory Wrangler experience, with a 6.4-liter V8, 470 horsepower, and serious straight-line punch. It also brings the most aggressive hardware and capability in the review, but it is the least practical choice for everyday use and the most expensive path into the lineup.

The safety package is not comprehensive across the range, so you should verify which driver-assistance features are included on any used example you consider.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Wrangler?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,589 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.90% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,340, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $35,016 sits slightly below last year's $36,818.

That softer pricing suggests the Wrangler is not currently in a rising-price cycle, which can help you buy more carefully today. For a future seller, that means resale value will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained and equipped.

Because demand remains tied to the Wrangler’s off-road identity and strong owner satisfaction, well-kept examples should still attract attention. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler safe?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler earns Good and Marginal ratings from IIHS testing, and it receives four-star ratings for frontal crash and three-star ratings for rollover from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep’s standard safety equipment is limited to a rearview camera, electronic roll mitigation, and stability control. Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are standard only on the top 392 model, while lane-keeping assist is not offered.

The mixed crash-test results and limited standard driver-assistance coverage are the main safety caveats to keep in mind if you are shopping used.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It balances rugged off-road focus with multiple powertrain choices and a broad range of capability.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $30,024, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $35,016 average.
• It emphasizes retro styling, open-air versatility, and serious off-road ability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $37,286, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $35,016 average.
• It adds a mid-cycle refresh focused on technology, safety, and refinement.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing and strong owner satisfaction, the 2023 is the sensible pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 gives you the Wrangler formula for less money. If you want the newer refresh and can spend more, the 2024 is the upgrade path to consider.
