How much does the 2023 Jeep Gladiator cost?

Is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Jeep Gladiator earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, off-road capability, and the blend of ruggedness with technology. The overview also points to its open-air personality and truck utility, which makes it appealing if you want a midsize pickup that feels different from the usual segment choices. On the downside, the expert review calls out poor fuel economy, noise, and a high price, so you should expect compromises if you want the Gladiator’s unique setup. Good and great deals account for 38.6% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable and satisfying over time, with praise centered on its smooth ride, off-road capability, and rugged-but-tech-forward character. The expert review also describes the Gladiator as a truck that can handle rough surfaces well and remain composed in daily driving, which supports the sense that it is built for regular use rather than occasional fun only. Jeep’s optional maintenance and ownership perks can help reduce early ownership friction when you choose the right package. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about living with the Gladiator’s compromises if you expect quiet, efficient, low-cost ownership.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Gladiator?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, even if the market looks clean overall. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the truck’s condition, especially if it has been used off-road or equipped with multiple option packages. Pay close attention to wear items, cabin noise, and whether the equipment you want is actually present on the specific truck you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with the basic Sport trim, and the review notes that the Gladiator Freedom Edition is based on Sport S trim. The base setup is sparse, so you should check carefully for feature gaps if you want more comfort or convenience.
• Powertrain: The Gladiator offers a standard 285-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 and an optional 260-hp 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6. The diesel is aimed at better fuel economy, while the gas V6 is paired with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic.
• Safety package: The optional Safety Group adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. The Advanced Safety Group adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high-beam headlights.
• Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a USB data and charging port, and an eight-speaker stereo. An 8.4-inch touchscreen is available with navigation, connected services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Alexa integration, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a nine-speaker Alpine premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The optional EcoDiesel turbodiesel engine returns 24 mpg in combined driving, and the gas V6 in the test truck was rated at 19 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Jeep Gladiator trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Gladiator is offered in 9 trim levels: Sport, Sport S, Willys, Mojave, Rubicon, High Altitude, Freedom Edition, and the trims referenced through the lineup updates and test vehicle setup.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and plan to add only the equipment you truly need. It is the trim to compare first if you care most about keeping costs down.
• Sport S: This is the best-value starting point for many shoppers because the Freedom Edition is based on it, and it gives you a better foundation for adding useful equipment without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Willys: The review notes added standard equipment for this model, so it is worth a look if you want a more capable-feeling Gladiator without going all the way to the more specialized trims.
• Mojave: This is the standout choice if you want the most distinctive driving character, with Fox shocks, a front suspension lift, 33-inch all-terrain tires, a locking rear differential, and steel rock rails. It suits you best if you value high-speed off-road capability and a more composed ride on rough pavement.
• Rubicon: This is the trim to target if you want serious off-road hardware, including Rock-Trac 4WD and a Tru-Lok locking front differential. It is the most obvious pick if trail capability matters more than everyday polish.
• High Altitude: This trim sits near the top of the range and can be paired with a new Capability Package that adds a winch-capable steel front bumper, steel rock rails, and a front off-road camera system. It makes sense if you want a more upscale Gladiator with added capability.
• Freedom Edition: This special edition adds gloss black wheels, body-color fender flares, a winch-capable steel front bumper, steel rock rails, LED headlights, cloth seats with leather trim, and special decals. It is a good fit if you want a more distinctive appearance and some useful hardware bundled together.

The Safety Group is worth adding if you want blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors, and the Advanced Safety Group builds on that with adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high-beam headlights.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Gladiator?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,984 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,268, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator's resale value?

The current average of $33,268 sits slightly below last year's $34,450.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now and may also limit how much upside a future seller can expect in the near term. Even so, the Gladiator’s distinctive formula still gives it a clear identity, and that can help support demand when you eventually resell. If you buy well and keep the truck in strong condition, you should have a better chance of holding value than with a more ordinary midsize pickup.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator safe?

The Jeep Gladiator earns a four-star rating for frontal-impact protection from NHTSA, and the IIHS says its headlights are Marginal at best.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The optional Safety Group adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. The Advanced Safety Group adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high-beam headlights. Jeep does not offer lane-departure warning or lane-keeping assistance for the Gladiator, so you should not expect a full suite of standard driver-assistance tech. The rollover resistance rating is also a weak point, which is worth keeping in mind if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Gladiator or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 stands out for its removable top and doors, plus the available diesel engine and strong towing and payload capability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $37,018, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $33,268 average.
• It adds updated styling, next-generation infotainment, and more comfort and convenience features.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because it costs less and still delivers the Gladiator’s core appeal. If you’re willing to pay more for newer tech and added convenience, the 2024 is the better fit.
