Used 2023 Jeep Gladiator for Sale nearBirmingham, AL

How much does the 2023 Jeep Gladiator cost?

Prices have softened 2.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,927 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Jeep Gladiator earns a 4.82/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, off-road capability, and the way it blends ruggedness with technology. The Gladiator also stands out for its utility and personality, especially if you want a truck with a removable top and doors rather than a conventional midsize pickup.

The trade-offs are clear: it is noisy, expensive, and not especially refined in everyday driving. That makes it a better fit if you value character, capability, and open-air versatility more than quiet-road comfort or bargain pricing.

With 36.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator reliable?

Owners rate it 4.82/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in the ways that matter most to shoppers who want a distinctive, capable vehicle for regular use. The Gladiator’s rugged setup and strong owner enthusiasm suggest you can count on it if you buy one that has been cared for properly.

Its durable, easy-to-clean cabin and truck-based construction also support the sense that it is built for long-term use. Still, because it is a specialized vehicle with a lot of personality, condition and maintenance history matter a lot more than they would on a more ordinary midsize truck.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Gladiator?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title alone does not tell you how hard a Gladiator has been used. Pay close attention to suspension wear, tire condition, and signs of off-road abuse, since this truck is often bought for capability rather than commuting alone.

A thorough inspection should also focus on the cabin, electronics, and any added equipment, especially if the truck has been modified or heavily optioned. If you are shopping a Gladiator for daily use, make sure the condition matches the price, because this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes a basic Sport trim, and the Freedom Edition is based on Sport S trim. The Mojave adds Fox 2.5-inch internal bypass shocks with external reservoirs, front hydraulic jounce bumpers, a 1-inch front suspension lift, 33-inch all-terrain tires, a locking rear differential, high-clearance front fender flares, and steel rock rails. The High Altitude can be equipped with a Capability Package that adds a winch-capable steel front bumper, steel rock rails, and a front off-road camera system. The best-value choice depends on whether you want the simplest truck or a more capable off-road setup.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 285-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic, or an optional 260-hp 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 with 442 lb-ft of torque and an eight-speed automatic. The diesel is the efficiency play, while the gas V6 is the standard choice.
• Safety package: The optional Safety Group adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. The optional Advanced Safety Group adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high-beam headlights. Jeep does not offer lane-departure warning or lane-keeping assistance.
• Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a USB data and charging port, and an eight-speaker stereo. An available 8.4-inch touchscreen adds navigation, connected services, Wi-Fi hotspot access, Alexa integration, SiriusXM satellite radio, a portable Bluetooth speaker, and a nine-speaker Alpine premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The optional EcoDiesel turbodiesel engine returns 24 mpg in combined driving, and the gas V6 Mojave is rated at 19 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2023 Jeep Gladiator trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Gladiator is offered in 9 trim levels: Sport, Sport S, Willys, Freedom Edition, Overland, Mojave, Rubicon, High Altitude, and High Altitude with Capability Package.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Gladiator experience at the lowest starting price and plan to build from there.
• Sport S: This is the trim that underpins the Freedom Edition, so it is a sensible step up if you want a little more equipment without jumping into the pricier specialty models.
• Willys: Jeep says this model gets added standard equipment for 2023, making it a stronger choice if you want more capability-oriented value than the base truck.
• Freedom Edition: This version adds gloss black wheels, body-color fender flares, a winch-capable steel front bumper, steel rock rails, LED headlights, cloth seats with leather trim, and special decals. It suits you if you want a distinctive appearance and some useful hardware without going all the way to the most expensive trims.
• Overland: This trim sits above the more basic versions and is a good fit if you want a more upscale everyday Gladiator without chasing the most specialized off-road hardware.
• Mojave: This is the standout if you want high-speed desert capability, thanks to its Fox shocks, suspension lift, 33-inch tires, locking rear differential, and reinforced off-road hardware. It is the right pick if you want the most distinctive driving character.
• Rubicon: This is the trim for serious trail use, with Rock-Trac 4WD and a Tru-Lok locking front differential. Choose it if off-road capability matters more than on-road polish.
• High Altitude: This is the more premium-oriented choice, especially if you want the available Capability Package to add a winch-capable steel front bumper, steel rock rails, and a front off-road camera system.
• High Altitude with Capability Package: This is the most feature-rich setup mentioned, and it makes sense if you want the upscale trim with added trail hardware.

The Safety Group is worth considering on trims where it is optional, because it adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Gladiator?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting huge discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,927 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,273, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator's resale value?

The current average of $33,686 sits slightly below last year's $34,649.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a little more favorable for buyers, which can make future resale a bit more competitive for sellers. If you buy now, you may benefit from the lower entry price, but you should also expect resale to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment.

Because the Gladiator is a niche truck with strong enthusiast appeal, well-kept examples should continue to attract attention. The key for future resale is to buy a clean, well-optioned truck and avoid examples that show heavy wear from off-road use or neglect.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator safe?

The Jeep Gladiator earns a four-star rating for frontal-impact protection from NHTSA, and the IIHS says its headlights are Marginal at best.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The available Safety Group adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors, while the Advanced Safety Group adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high-beam headlights. Jeep does not offer lane-departure warning or lane-keeping assistance.

That means you should treat safety equipment as an important shopping priority, especially if you want the most complete driver-assistance setup. The Gladiator’s safety story is improved by optional equipment, but its standard feature set is limited and the headlight result is a real caveat.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Gladiator or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Gladiator’s open-air personality and strong utility while offering the optional EcoDiesel and Mojave capability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $37,411, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $33,686 average.
• It adds updated infotainment, more comfort features, and new range-topping trims.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because prices have eased and inventory is healthy. If you care more about newer tech and added convenience features, the 2024 is worth the extra money, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2023.
