Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.22% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,836, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $27,343 average.
• It offers a strong debut-year mix of innovation, roomy packaging, and approachable EV value.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall market position, the 2023 is the better primary target because it combines solid owner satisfaction, good inventory depth, and a healthy share of clean listings. If your main goal is to spend less, the 2022 is the better secondary path and may deliver much of the same core appeal for less money.
