How much does the 2023 Ford Ranger cost?

There are 2,004 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford Ranger a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Ford Ranger earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal for shoppers who want a practical midsize pickup. The overview points to a truck with real work credentials, including strong towing and payload capability, plus a straightforward layout that prioritizes utility over flash. That makes it a sensible fit if you care more about capability, daily usefulness, and value than luxury features. The market also shows 35.3% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Ford Ranger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview describes a truck built around proven utility, with a turbocharged four-cylinder, a 10-speed automatic, and available rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. Its functional cabin and work-truck focus suggest a simple ownership experience rather than a complicated one. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about sophistication and more about finding a truck that has been maintained well and not overworked.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Ranger?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully for prior damage, title issues, and service gaps before you commit. Put inspection priority on the truck’s condition, especially signs of hard use, since this model is often bought for work and towing. Focus on how the truck presents overall, because a clean history and solid mechanical condition matter more than cosmetic extras.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Ranger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,004 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,859, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Ranger's resale value?

The current average of $30,859 sits slightly below last year's $32,969.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend suggests you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than broad market momentum. Trucks with clean histories and strong maintenance records should still draw attention from used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Ranger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $38,298, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $30,859 average.
• It adds more power, tech, refinement, space, and trim choice.

The bottom line:
You should lean toward the 2023 if you want a capable midsize truck at a lower used price and with plenty of inventory to compare. If you want more refinement, more choices, and are willing to pay more, the 2024 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2023 is the smarter value play.
