Used 2023 Ford F-150 for Sale nearHolland, MI

How much does the 2023 Ford F-150 cost?

Prices have softened 5.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,739 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Ford F-150 earns a 4.94/5 user rating, and our experts give it an 8/10 overall score. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, smooth ride, and modern features like the large touchscreen and advanced safety tech. The truck also stands out for its broad capability and flexible lineup, which makes it useful whether you want a work truck or a more family-friendly daily driver.

The main trade-offs are that pricing can feel high and some luxury features may be more than you need. Our test-drive notes also point to poor fuel economy in the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, poor ride quality in the specific test truck, and some interior materials that feel cheap.

The 2023 F-150 fits especially well if you want a full-size pickup that can cover work and family duties without giving up technology or safety. Good and great deals account for 35.3% of listings, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a truck that feels powerful, modern, and easy to live with over time, with language that emphasizes smooth operation and advanced features you can count on. The expert evaluation also describes the truck as structurally solid and notes that the transmission always picks the right gear at the right time and without delay.

Ford also includes useful ownership-friendly tech such as over-the-air software updates, which can help keep the infotainment system current. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that condition and maintenance history matter a lot on a truck that may have been worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford F-150?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck was used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Focus on wear items, cabin condition, and whether the truck’s equipment matches the way you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans regular, extended, and crew cab body styles with a wide range of trims, from the work-focused XL to the high-performance Raptor R. Base-trim trucks can feel more utilitarian, while higher trims add more comfort, appearance, and convenience equipment.
• Powertrain: The truck offers multiple engines, including the optional twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 in the test truck. It delivers effortless acceleration and pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission; the truck can also be equipped with four-wheel drive, though the test setup lacked a full-time or automatic 4WD mode.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 bundles automatic high beams, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, automatic reverse braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centering assist, evasive steering assist, intersection assist, and speed-sign recognition. Some of these features are package-dependent rather than universal.
• Infotainment: Sync 4 includes a 12-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, enhanced voice recognition, SiriusXM 360L, and FordPass Connect with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The test truck returned 17 mpg in combined driving, versus an EPA expectation of 19 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2023 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford F-150 is offered in 8 trim levels: XL, STX, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Tremor, and Raptor R.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and plan to keep the truck simple.
• STX: This trim adds a bit more everyday appeal while staying close to the value end of the lineup.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the more desirable tech and convenience mix without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Lariat: Choose this if you want a more upscale cabin and are willing to pay for additional comfort and equipment.
• King Ranch: This is for buyers who want a more premium, distinctive truck with a stronger luxury lean.
• Platinum: This trim suits you if you want a high-end F-150 with a more polished feel and lots of equipment.
• Tremor: Pick this if you want a more off-road-oriented setup without going all the way to the extreme performance models.
• Raptor R: This is the halo performance truck, with the most extreme hardware and the highest price tag.

Ford’s safety package is a major strength, but some features are bundled rather than standard on every trim, so check equipment carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford F-150?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,739 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,149, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $41,149 sits slightly below last year's $43,500.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to help buyers now, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well today, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

Strong demand for the F-150’s mix of capability, technology, and safety should help support used-market interest. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2023 Ford F-150 earns high marks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and nothing but five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, coupled with a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is the named driver-assistance suite, and it includes automatic high beams, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, automatic reverse braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centering assist, evasive steering assist, intersection assist, and speed-sign recognition.

The system is broadly strong, but the lane-centering behavior can be a little aggressive in some situations, and the truck may slow more than you expect on tighter curves. The surround-view camera and parking sensors are especially useful in daily driving and parking.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds the Raptor R and XLT Heritage Edition, expanding both performance and style choices.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $45,223, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $41,149 average.
• It adds an updated BlueCruise system and a standard 12-inch touchscreen.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because prices have softened and inventory is healthy. If you want the newer updates and are willing to pay more, the 2024 is the cleaner upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2023 offers the stronger balance of cost, selection, and satisfaction.
