Used 2023 Ford F-150 for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2023 Ford F-150 cost?

Prices have softened 5.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,657 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and equipment.

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Ford F-150 earns a 4.94/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, smooth ride, and modern features like the large touchscreen and advanced safety tech. The truck also stands out for its capability and broad range of versions, which makes it useful whether you want a work truck, a family hauler, or something more specialized.

The trade-offs are straightforward: pricing can feel high, and some buyers may not need the more luxurious equipment. The expert review also points to poor fuel economy from the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, poor ride quality in the test truck, and some interior materials that feel cheap.

With 35.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have room to shop carefully and compare value across the lineup.

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels powerful, smooth, and well-equipped, with modern features that make daily use easier. That kind of praise usually lines up with confidence in long-term ownership, especially when buyers value capability and technology together.

The expert review reinforces that impression by describing the truck as structurally solid and noting that the transmission shifts cleanly and without delay. It also highlights a dependable-feeling drivetrain and brakes that resist fade under hard use.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about choosing the right configuration and condition, since some versions are more expensive to own and live with than others.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford F-150?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the truck’s equipment matches the listing, especially if it has been modified with towing, off-road, or convenience packages. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing because ride quality, interior wear, and powertrain condition can vary a lot by configuration and use. Focus on how the truck was driven and whether the features you care about are actually present and working.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans regular, Super Cab, and SuperCrew body styles with short, standard, and long beds, and the test truck’s XLT setup shows how quickly options can add up. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to cabin materials and equipment gaps, since the review notes some surface plastics feel basic and cloth seats may be the norm at lower prices.
• Powertrain: The truck offers multiple engines, and the test vehicle used the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. It delivers strong acceleration, but the review also notes poor fuel economy from this engine and says the truck can feel harsh and skittish when unloaded.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 includes automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, automatic reverse braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centering assist, evasive steering assist, intersection assist for left turns, and speed-sign recognition. Some of these features are part of the Assist package rather than the standard 2.0 suite.
• Infotainment: Sync 4 brings a 12-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air software updates, enhanced voice recognition, and SiriusXM 360L. Ford Pass Connect and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot are also standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The test truck returned 17 mpg in combined driving, versus an EPA expectation of 19 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2023 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford F-150 is offered in 8 trim levels: XL, XLT, XLT Heritage Edition, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Tremor, and Raptor R.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost path into the F-150 lineup, but you should expect the fewest comfort and convenience features. It makes the most sense if your priority is basic truck utility and you plan to add only the equipment you truly need.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it brings the more desirable everyday equipment without jumping into luxury pricing. The review’s test truck shows how well it can be equipped with Sync 4, a 12-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and useful towing and trailering tech.
• XLT Heritage Edition: This is the style-focused choice if you want the XLT’s core value with a more distinctive look and cabin treatment. It adds two-tone paint, unique cloth seat inserts, and exclusive 75 Years interior details.

The safety package is a strong point across the lineup, but some advanced driver-assistance features are bundled into the Assist portion rather than being standard on every version.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford F-150?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,657 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.07% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,340, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $41,340 sits slightly below last year's $43,546.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper resale gains if you sell soon. For a future seller, the good news is that the F-150’s broad appeal and strong feature set should help keep demand steady. The challenge is that trucks with lots of options can be expensive to buy, so resale value will depend heavily on trim, condition, and equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 safe?

The F-150 SuperCrew earns high marks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and nothing but five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), coupled with a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is the named driver-assistance suite, and it includes automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, automatic reverse braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centering assist, evasive steering assist, intersection assist for left turns, and speed-sign recognition.

The review notes that lane-centering and adaptive cruise work well overall, but the system can be a little aggressive in tighter curves and may tug at the wheel more than you want. The surround-view camera and parking sensors are especially useful, and the post-collision braking system adds another layer of protection after an impact.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year adds the Raptor R and XLT Heritage Edition, expanding both performance and style choices.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $45,475, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $41,340 average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch touchscreen and an updated BlueCruise system.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and broad inventory. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer truck with a few thoughtful updates, the 2024 is the better pick; price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on the 2023 and shop for a clean, well-equipped example.
