How much does the 2024 Ford F-150 cost?

Prices have softened 9.93% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,715 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Ford F-150 earns a 4.57/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its powerful engine choices, smooth driving feel, and strong towing capability. They also like the broad feature set and the value you can get relative to higher trims.

The trade-offs are familiar ones for this truck: some buyers want more center-console storage, and others wish for push-button start. The overview also points to a bouncy unladen ride, so if you spend a lot of time driving empty, that is worth keeping in mind.

For your use case, this is a strong fit if you want one vehicle that can handle work duties and family errands without giving up capability. With 36.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with strong power, good towing ability, and a generally satisfying ownership experience. It also suggests that many drivers feel confident relying on it for both work and regular driving.

The expert notes reinforce that impression by emphasizing the truck’s broad capability and easy-to-use controls, which can make long-term ownership less frustrating. The cost-effectiveness notes also mention a three-year/36,000-mile factory warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about how the truck was equipped and used, since options, towing hardware, and trim content can vary widely.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford F-150?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any truck you are seriously considering, especially if it has towing equipment, off-road hardware, or signs of heavy use. A pre-purchase inspection matters here because the F-150 can be configured so many different ways that condition and equipment matter as much as mileage. Focus on wear in the cabin, evidence of hard work, and whether the truck’s features actually match the listing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL is pretty spartan, while higher trims add more luxury and convenience. Mid trims can still show some cheap-looking surfaces, so inspect touchpoints and cabin materials closely.
• Powertrain: You have six engine options, including a standard turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and an available 3.5-liter turbo V6 hybrid with 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. The Tremor uses a 5.0-liter V8 with 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, while the Raptor R uses a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 with 720 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Every truck comes with Ford CoPilot 360, including automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and cross traffic alert. A 360-degree camera is recommended on higher trims, and BlueCruise is available on Tremor and up.
• Infotainment: All models get a 12-inch touchscreen with SYNC 4, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 5G LTE wireless hotspot, wireless charging, and a 12-inch digital gauge cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid setup is rated at 22 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford F-150 is offered in 8 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Tremor, Raptor, and Raptor R.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the most basic version, and it is the one to choose only if you want the lowest entry point and do not mind a spartan setup.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it sits in the sweet spot between price and equipment, and it can be paired with the optional hybrid powertrain.
• Lariat: This is a strong step up if you want more comfort and technology without jumping all the way to the luxury-focused trims.
• King Ranch: This is the right pick if you want a more upscale cabin, including heated and ventilated front leather seats, heated rear seats, wood trim, and ambient lighting.
• Platinum: This trim leans luxury as well, and it also gets access to the Smoked Truffle interior treatment mentioned for 2024.
• Tremor: This is the off-road-focused choice, with a 5.0-liter V8, 33-inch tires, a 1-inch lift, off-road-tuned shocks and springs, beefy control arms, and an electronic locking rear differential.
• Raptor: This is the high-performance off-road model for buyers who want serious desert-running capability and the most extreme hardware in the lineup.
• Raptor R: This is the most extreme version, with a supercharged V8, 37-inch tires, and suspension tuning aimed at high-speed rough-terrain driving.

Ford also notes that BlueCruise is available on Tremor and up, so if hands-free driving matters to you, that is an important trim-line consideration.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford F-150?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,715 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.93% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $45,475, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $45,475 sits slightly below last year's $50,486.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face more price pressure than owners did a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

The truck’s broad appeal helps support resale because it serves so many buyers, from work-focused shoppers to families and off-road enthusiasts. Strong feature content and wide trim availability also help keep demand broad across the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2024 Ford F-150 earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, with five-star side-crash and frontal-crash ratings and four-star rollover ratings. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2024 F-150 SuperCrew its top score of Good in driver- and passenger-side crashworthiness, while front-crash testing received a Poor rating for possible injuries to rear-seat passengers.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 F-150 comes with Ford CoPilot 360, which includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and cross traffic alert. Ford also recommends moving up the trim line if you want a 360-degree camera, and BlueCruise is available on Tremor and higher trims.

The main caveat is that some safety equipment is not standard, and the IIHS front-crash result is a notable weak spot. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to trim content and look for the added driver-assistance features you want.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds updated BlueCruise, a standard 12-inch touchscreen, and a multi-functional tailgate.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $41,340, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $45,475 average.
• It adds the debut of the Raptor R and the XLT Heritage Edition.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $49,517, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $45,475 average.
• It expands the lineup with more driver-assistance systems and a Platinum Plus package.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current pricing, updated tech, and broad availability, the 2024 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the better value play, especially if you find one with the equipment you want. If you want the newest version and are willing to pay more, the 2025 brings more breadth and added features.
