How much does the 2023 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.50% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,675 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy set of options to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Ford Bronco earns a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, comfort, rugged design, and overall driving experience. The Bronco’s broad range of body styles and configurations also helps it fit different needs, from everyday use to trail-focused shopping.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and fuel economy is below average. In practical terms, you’re getting a highly versatile SUV with strong appeal, but you should be comfortable giving up some efficiency and standard safety content.

The market still shows solid interest, with 35.5% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe the Bronco as dependable in the ways that matter most to buyers who plan to keep it, especially for off-road use, comfort, and day-to-day enjoyment. The feedback also points to a vehicle people feel good about living with over time, even if they note some concerns around pricing and practicality.

The Bronco’s performance notes reinforce that it’s built to handle both highway driving and rough terrain without feeling fragile. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher running costs and cargo practicality concerns may matter more as mileage and wear add up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the Bronco has seen trail use or heavy modification. Focus on condition details that matter on this model: interior wear, signs of off-road abuse, and whether the equipment level matches what you expect from the trim you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim has a decidedly bare-bones look with steel wheels and little adornment, while higher trims add more personality and capability. The interior is rugged and washable in properly equipped versions, but it is designed more for durability than luxury.
• Powertrain: The Bronco is available with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder, an optional 2.7-liter V6, and a top-end 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 in the Raptor. The base engine is described as more than adequate, while the V6 options add power for heavier models and more demanding use.
• Safety package: All Broncos come standard with forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package is not available on the Base model and adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams.
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Ford’s SYNC 4. Most Broncos come with an eight-inch touchscreen, and the available 12-inch display is the one to seek if you want easier day-to-day use.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder engine is estimated at up to 20 mpg in combined city and highway driving, and depending on options that can drop as low as 17 mpg. The 2.7-liter V6 is rated between 17 and 18 mpg, while the Raptor is estimated at 15 mpg.

Which 2023 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford Bronco is offered in 9 trim levels: Base, Black Diamond, Heritage, Heritage Limited, and Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the most stripped-down Bronco, with a primitive, bare-bones look and steel wheels. It makes sense if you want the entry point into the lineup, but it misses out on some of the convenience and driver-assistance upgrades available higher up.
• Black Diamond: This is the best-value trim to consider if you want a strong middle ground. It balances capability and comfort well, and the available Sasquatch package can add meaningful off-road upgrades.
• Heritage: This trim leans into the retro theme with a white grille, roof, wheels, and plaid seat upholstery. It’s the pick if you want the Bronco’s nostalgic styling to stand out more clearly.
• Heritage Limited: This version keeps the Heritage look but adds a more capable feel. It suits you if you want the nostalgic design with a more upscale or specialized presentation.
• Raptor: This is the top-end, high-output choice with a wide stance, elevated height, and massive tires. It’s the one to buy if you want the most extreme Bronco character and capability.

The Mid package is not available on the Base trim, so shoppers who want more driver-assistance features should plan accordingly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully but still enough demand to reward quick action on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,675 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.50% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,693, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $40,693 sits slightly below last year's $44,963.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future sellers may face a market that is still adjusting from stronger prior-year values. If demand stays steady, the Bronco’s broad appeal and strong reputation should help support used prices better than a less desirable SUV.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2023 Ford Bronco earns four-star ratings in frontal crash protection and three-star ratings for rollover protection from NHTSA. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded it Good scores in all crashworthiness tests except head restraints and seats, where it received Acceptable.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

All Broncos come standard with forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while the High package adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system. The Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.

The Bronco’s safety story is strongest when you move beyond the base setup, since advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds Heritage-inspired variants and remains one of the most desirable Broncos in the lineup.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $36,936, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $40,693 average.
• It delivers serious off-road ability with strong everyday drivability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,182, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $40,693 average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment system.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, inventory, and feature-rich appeal, the 2023 is the sweet spot. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the better value play; if you want the newer tech update, the 2024 is worth the premium.
