How much does the 2023 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.19% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,474 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Ford Bronco earns a 4.27/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, comfort, rugged design, and overall driving experience. The Bronco’s versatility also stands out, since it works well both on the highway and on challenging terrain. On the trade-off side, the expert notes point to high pricing and fuel economy concerns, and the overview frames it as a vehicle that is as much about style and everyday appeal as trail use.

The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 34.2% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.27/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable in the ways Bronco shoppers care about most, especially for off-road use and day-to-day enjoyment. The expert notes reinforce that impression by describing the Bronco as capable and comfortable enough to handle both pavement and rough terrain with confidence. The cost-effectiveness notes also emphasize that the factory warranty covers the Raptor’s upgrades, which is a useful ownership perk for buyers considering the most extreme version.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that higher running costs and rugged-use wear can matter more here than on a typical SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the Bronco may have seen hard trail use. Focus on signs of wear in the suspension, tires, underbody, and interior surfaces, since this model is built to be used hard. It also makes sense to compare equipment carefully, because some desirable driver-assistance features are not standard on every trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim has a decidedly primitive, bare-bones look with steel wheels and little adornment, while higher trims add more personality and capability. The safety content also notes that the Mid package is not available on the Base model, so base-trim shoppers miss out on several convenience and driver-assistance upgrades.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.3-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, an optional 2.7-liter V6 with 330 hp and 415 lb-ft, or the Raptor’s 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with 418 hp and 440 lb-ft. The Bronco also comes with four-wheel drive and a two-speed transfer case, and the base engine is described as more than adequate for both on- and off-road use.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while the High package adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system and the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Ford’s SYNC 4. Most Broncos come with an eight-inch touchscreen, though a 12-inch display is available and easier to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder is estimated at up to 20 mpg combined, though depending on options it can drop to 17 mpg. The 2.7-liter V6 is rated at 17-18 mpg, and the Raptor is estimated at 15 mpg.

Which 2023 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford Bronco is offered in 9 trim levels: Base, Black Diamond, Heritage, Heritage Limited, and Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the most affordable entry point, but it is also the most stripped-down. It makes sense if you want the Bronco’s core off-road hardware and plan to add options carefully, though you should expect fewer comfort and safety conveniences than higher trims.
• Black Diamond: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because the cost-effectiveness notes call it a good middle ground. It’s the trim to target if you want a more balanced mix of capability and everyday usability, and it’s also the one the expert specifically suggests for buyers considering added off-road upgrades.
• Heritage: This trim leans into the Bronco’s retro personality with a white grille, roof, wheels, and plaid seat upholstery. It’s a strong choice if you care about style and nostalgia as much as capability.
• Heritage Limited: This version keeps the Heritage look but adds a more capable character. It suits you if you want the nostalgic design theme with a more upscale or specialized feel.
• Raptor: This is the top-end, high-output choice with the most extreme power and stance. It’s the right pick if you want maximum performance and don’t mind paying for overkill.

The Mid package is not available on the Base trim, so safety-feature shoppers should move up if those systems matter to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,474 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.19% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,073, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $41,073 sits slightly below last year's $45,230.

That softer pricing suggests the Bronco has moved into a more buyer-friendly phase, which can help future resale if you buy at the right number. If you pay close to the current average, your depreciation risk is lower than it would have been when prices were higher. Strong demand for the Bronco’s capability and style should also help support used-market interest over time.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.27/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2023 Ford Bronco earns four-star ratings for frontal crash protection and three-star ratings for rollover protection from NHTSA, while the IIHS gave the four-door model its top Good score in all crashworthiness tests except head restraints and seats, where it received Acceptable.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while the High package adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system and the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist. The Bronco’s safety story is also shaped by the fact that advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.27/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds Heritage-inspired variants and keeps the Bronco’s broad mix of body styles and off-road capability.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,191, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $41,073 average.
• It delivers serious off-road ability with better everyday drivability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,674, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $41,073 average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment system and other cabin updates.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around choice if you want the Bronco’s strong mix of style, capability, and market availability. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the smarter value play, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer tech upgrades and are willing to pay more.
