It’s a relatively accessible grand touring coupe for something wearing the Ferrari badge. ## What’s New for the 2023 Ferrari Roma The Ferrari Roma has seen no major changes since it was introduced for the 2021 model year. Though Ferrari typically focuses on V12 engines, the Roma features a V8, which makes it one of the more affordable ways to enjoy the storied Italian brand’s enviable design and performance. The Roma is less of a sports or track car than its stablemates, and more of a grand tourer. ## Design The Roma is a decadent grand touring coupe with unmistakable Ferrari design. It has a low, wide stance, sleek lines, and massive wheels that put the gorgeous carbon-ceramic brakes and painted calipers on display. The long front end allows for the front-mid-engine layout, while the roofline tapers into a short rear deck and muscular rear haunches. Thin headlights wrap to the front fenders. ## Powertrain The 2023 Ferrari Roma comes powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 with a front-mid-engine layout. This engine is complemented by an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) and rear-wheel drive (RWD), with 612 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque on tap. Carbon-ceramic disc brakes provide stopping power, and selectable drive modes adjust response for different types of terrain or environmental conditions. ## Interior The Ferrari Roma features a 2+2 seating arrangement, which means the driver and front passenger have relatively comfortable space while two passengers may (or may not) be able to squeeze into the two rear seats. The styling is modern and performance-oriented, with details like an F1-inspired steering wheel and a dial that controls the selectable driving modes. Leather and synthetic suede upholstery add an upscale look and feel. ## Technology The Roma’s cockpit features a 16-inch digital gauge cluster that’s customizable through steering wheel-mounted haptic controls, a portrait-oriented 16-inch touch-screen infotainment display, and a separate, smaller touch screen for the front passenger, with navigation controls. It’s more tech-focused than many other contemporary Ferrari models, yet it’s still relatively simple and designed to allow the driver to focus on the road or the track. ## Safety As is typical for exotic cars, the Ferrari Roma doesn’t get crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Ferrari offers the Roma with adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. All are optional, but they're probably worth the cost. ## Pricing The 2023 Ferrari Roma is available now. As of this writing, Ferrari lists pricing of the 2023 Roma starting at $247,310, which makes it out of reach for most shoppers yet still somewhat reasonable for an exotic sports car. Keep in mind, though, that Ferrari’s options tend to be astronomically expensive, so you’re unlikely to get a Roma for anywhere close to its base price.
