How much does the 2023 Dodge Durango cost?

Prices are up 7.61% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 4,063 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Dodge Durango a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Dodge Durango earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its styling, powerful performance, and spaciousness. Many also call out the comfortable ride and the strong gas mileage from the V6. On the other hand, some drivers note that interior quality can feel lacking, especially in the back seat, and depreciation is a concern for some buyers.

From a use-case standpoint, this is a three-row SUV for you if you want family practicality with a more aggressive personality than the typical midsize crossover. It fits best if you value character and power as much as everyday utility.

With 32.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable in daily use, with repeated praise for its comfort, power, and overall livability. The expert review also notes that the Durango’s long-running platform has been extended successfully through added horsepower, and that the powertrain warranty is the same even for the high-output Hellcat engine.

That said, you should still pay close attention to maintenance records and condition, because long-term ownership risk is tied more to how the vehicle was used and maintained than to the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Dodge Durango?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-trim or higher-performance version. Focus on wear, maintenance consistency, and whether the vehicle’s equipment matches the trim you’re shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with the SXT and moves up through the GT, R/T, Citadel, and SRT 392, with the SRT Hellcat returning as a regular production model. The base SXT is the most stripped-down choice, while higher trims add more luxury, performance, and appearance content.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 makes 293 horsepower and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Higher trims add a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, a 6.4-liter Hemi V8, or a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, with rear-wheel drive standard and all-wheel drive available on most trims.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert are standard on all trim levels. Forward collision warning is standard only on the Citadel and optional on other models, while lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking are standard only on the Citadel and not available on the base SXT.
• Infotainment: SXT and GT models get an 8.4-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, and Bluetooth. Citadel and the two SRT models get a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, plus the newer Uconnect 5 system.
• Fuel efficiency: The base Pentastar V6 with rear-wheel drive is rated at 21 mpg combined. Fuel economy drops to 17 mpg combined with the 5.7-liter V8, 15 mpg combined with the 6.4-liter V8, and 13 mpg combined with the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat engine.

Which 2023 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2023 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, Citadel, and SRT 392.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Durango’s core three-row utility and standard V6 power. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup, but it also leaves you with the fewest comfort and safety features.
• GT: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more everyday appeal without jumping all the way to V8 pricing. It also works well if you want the available Blacktop appearance treatment and a more upscale look without moving into the performance trims.
• R/T: Choose this if you want the Durango’s V8 character and stronger performance. It’s the trim that most clearly leans into the model’s muscle-car personality.
• Citadel: This is the comfort-focused pick, with more luxury-oriented equipment and the most complete standard safety package. It’s the trim to target if you want the most well-rounded mix of comfort and driver assistance.
• SRT 392: This is the performance-first choice, with the strongest naturally aspirated V8 in the lineup and the most aggressive hardware and tech. It suits you best if outright speed matters more than value.

The Citadel is the trim with the most complete standard safety equipment, while the base SXT leaves several advanced driver-assistance features unavailable.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Dodge Durango?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,063 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 7.61% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 85.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,837, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $33,224 sits slightly above last year's $30,875.

That upward move suggests the Durango has held buyer interest well enough to support pricing. If you own one, that can help you when it’s time to sell, especially if your vehicle is clean, well maintained, and equipped with desirable features.

The model’s strong owner satisfaction also helps keep demand steady in the used market. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2023 Dodge Durango earns Good ratings in the original-format moderate front overlap, side, and roof strength tests from IIHS, but it receives a Marginal score in the driver-side small overlap front test. NHTSA gives it a four-star overall safety rating, with five-star side crash results, four-star frontal crash results, and four-star rollover results for RWD models; AWD models receive three-star rollover ratings.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert are standard on all trim levels. Forward collision warning is standard only on the Citadel and optional on other trims, while lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking are standard only on the Citadel and not available on the base SXT.

The mixed crash-test results and the limited standard driver-assistance content mean you should pay close attention to trim level if safety equipment matters to you.

Should I buy a 2023 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 7.61% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The return of the Durango SRT Hellcat as a regular production model makes this year especially notable for performance-focused shoppers.

The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive Durango personality and the broadest mix of trims and powertrains, the 2023 model is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can still find value in the used market, but you should focus on condition, equipment, and maintenance history rather than chasing the lowest sticker alone.
