How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer cost?

Prices have softened 5.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,198 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer earns a 4.91/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its features, comfort, and driving dynamics, and they also highlight the heated seats, safety technology, and spaciousness. Those strengths line up with the Trailblazer’s use case as Chevrolet’s entry-level SUV: a small, affordable crossover that aims to be easy to live with and appealing for everyday driving.

The main trade-offs are the irritating transmission and the fact that advanced safety features are not standard. Even so, the Trailblazer’s stylish design, easy-to-use technology, and strong value help it stand out, and 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer reliable?

Owners rate it 4.91/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise centered on comfort, features, and driving dynamics. That kind of satisfaction usually matters most when you’re shopping used, because it suggests the vehicle is meeting expectations over time rather than just impressing on a test drive.

The Trailblazer’s straightforward small-SUV layout and practical packaging also support confidence for daily use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the transmission and feature content match the condition and equipment level you expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are common but not universal. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and whether the vehicle’s equipment matches the trim and package mix you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS starts as the base model, while the LT, Activ, and RS add more style and equipment. The Activ brings a more rugged look with a faux skid plate, roof rails, and chunky 17-inch tires, while the RS leans sportier with blacked-out trim, a mesh grille, and dual exhaust outlets. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps, since the more distinctive appearance and convenience touches show up higher in the lineup.
• Powertrain: A 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder is standard, and a 1.3-liter turbo-three is available for more output. Front-wheel-drive models use a CVT, while all-wheel-drive models use a nine-speed automatic. The 1.3-liter engine is the better fit if you want more flexibility, especially if you’re comparing drivetrains.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and Teen Driver. Optional blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are worth seeking out if you want broader coverage, since advanced safety features are not standard.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 7-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, Bluetooth, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. An 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, a Bose audio system, rear-seat USB ports, and wireless phone charging are optional, so check carefully if you want the larger screen or extra convenience tech.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA ratings range from 30 mpg combined for the 1.2-liter FWD model to 31 mpg combined for the 1.3-liter FWD model and 28 mpg combined for the 1.3-liter AWD model. In testing, the AWD version returned 25 mpg over a week, which is worth keeping in mind if fuel economy matters to you.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, Activ, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable with the standard 1.2-liter engine and front-wheel drive. It’s the trim to choose if value matters most and you’re willing to live without the extra style and equipment found higher up.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it opens the door to the 1.3-liter engine and all-wheel drive. If you want the Trailblazer’s core strengths without jumping all the way to the more style-focused trims, this is the one to target.
• Activ: This is the right pick if you want the most rugged-looking Trailblazer, with the faux skid plate, roof rails, and chunkier tires. It also brings the tested AWD setup and a more distinctive cabin presentation, making it a good fit if style and a slightly tougher vibe matter to you.
• RS: This is the trim for buyers who want the sportiest appearance, with blacked-out exterior trim, a mesh grille, and dual exhaust outlets. It’s the choice if you care most about visual flair and a more aggressive look.

Safety equipment is strongest when you add the available driver-assistance packages, since advanced safety features are not standard on every trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,198 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,945, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer's resale value?

The current average of $21,122 sits slightly below last year's $22,271.

That decline suggests the Trailblazer has become a bit more buyer-friendly in the used market, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract attention if pricing is realistic. A softer market usually means you may need to be more competitive on asking price, especially if your vehicle lacks desirable options or has higher mileage.

At the same time, the Trailblazer’s broad appeal as an affordable small SUV helps support demand. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer safe?

The 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in the frontal and side crash-test categories and four-star ratings in rollover crash testing.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and Teen Driver. Optional driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.

One caveat is that the standard halogen headlights were rated only “Average,” while the optional LED headlights earned a “Good” score. That makes the available lighting upgrade worth considering if you want the strongest safety package.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.91/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines stylish design, easy-to-use technology, and strong value.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $18,968, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $21,122 average.
• It’s stylish, affordable, and practical, with a broad appeal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $22,731, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $21,122 average.
• It adds a more polished balance of space, usability, and value.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, satisfaction, and current-market availability, the 2023 is the primary year to target. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 can save you money, while the 2024 is worth considering if you want a slightly more refined overall package and don’t mind paying more.
