Used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale nearRaleigh, NC

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Prices have softened 6.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,723 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

It’s a mixed but appealing choice if you want a midsize truck that emphasizes capability, technology, and rugged styling over luxury polish. The user rating is 3/5, and the expert rating is 6.5/10.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Colorado’s appeal starts with its redesigned setup: it comes only as a crew-cab, short-bed truck, and even the base trim gets modern instrumentation, infotainment, connectivity, and safety tech. It also brings strong payload and towing numbers, plus off-road-oriented trims that broaden its appeal if you want a truck that can work during the week and play on the weekend.

The trade-offs are real, though. The interior materials feel cheap, fuel economy is poor, and the forward collision warning system is described as aggravating.

With 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2023 Colorado is built around a robust, modern truck formula, and its turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain is described as plenty powerful. The expert testing also calls out strong structural rigidity and confident behavior on pavement and rough surfaces.

The performance notes suggest a truck that feels composed and capable in daily driving and off-road use, with a quiet cabin at speed and a suspension that handles broken pavement well. That said, the same testing also points to disappointing fuel economy, which can affect how satisfying ownership feels over time.

Chevrolet also includes useful ownership-minded tech such as OnStar emergency calling and automatic crash notification, plus trailer and off-road camera views that can make the truck easier to live with.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is that a truck with this much capability can still become frustrating if you’re sensitive to operating costs and feature behavior.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage doesn’t replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the truck’s electronics, driver-assistance behavior, and overall cabin condition. Since this model’s value proposition leans heavily on tech and capability, make sure the truck you’re considering matches the condition and equipment level you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Work Truck trim gets modern tech, but the cabin materials are described as cheap, and higher trims add more body-color treatment and nicer interiors. If you want the most off-road-focused setup, the Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 bring more capability-oriented hardware.
• Powertrain: Every 2023 Colorado uses a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic. WT and LT get 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while Trail Boss and Z71 get 310 horsepower and 391 pound-feet; ZR2 models keep 310 horsepower but increase torque to 430 pound-feet.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Optional upgrades include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with active steering assist, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Every Colorado gets an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, OnStar, connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The instrument display is 8 inches on most trims and 11 inches on the ZR2.
• Fuel efficiency: The Trail Boss is rated at 19 mpg, and testing returned 17 mpg.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the value-focused starting point, and it still gets the Colorado’s modern digital instrumentation and 11.3-inch infotainment setup. It makes the most sense if you want the truck’s core capability and tech without paying for off-road extras.
• LT: This is the best-value trim if you want a more everyday-friendly Colorado with the option to add more capability. It keeps the modern tech and opens the door to more equipment without jumping straight to the off-road-focused trims.
• Trail Boss: This is the right pick if you want a more rugged, off-road-oriented Colorado without going all the way to the top end. It adds a suspension lift, all-terrain tires, standard 4WD, and hill descent control.
• Z71: Choose this if you want a more capable and better-equipped off-road setup than the Trail Boss, with standard 4WD, a two-speed transfer case, all-terrain tires, and the stronger engine tune.
• ZR2: This is the most serious off-road version, with the most torque, a 3-inch lift, mud-terrain tires, exclusive Multimatic DSSV dampers, and the larger 11-inch instrument display.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, while more advanced driver-assistance features remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,723 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,761, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $33,665 sits slightly below last year's $35,912.

That price movement suggests the Colorado has softened enough to help you buy more selectively today. If you plan to sell later, the current market gives you a clearer benchmark, but it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and equipment.

Because the truck’s pricing has moved down year over year, a well-kept example with desirable features should hold up better than a basic or heavily used one. If you buy smart now, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation later.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The 2023 Colorado earns a 3-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Marginal result from IIHS.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Optional safety upgrades include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with active steering assist, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors.

The main caveat is the forward collision warning system, which is described as overly sensitive and prone to false alerts. That makes the standard safety setup less reassuring than the feature list might suggest.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.26% compared with last year.
• It delivers strong capability, modern tech, and a redesigned setup that focuses on the basics truck buyers want.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,932, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $33,665 average.
• It shifts further toward a modern lifestyle-pickup formula with more contemporary presence and polished everyday usability.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because it combines lower pricing with strong capability and modern equipment. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer take on the Colorado formula, the 2024 is the better fit; price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on the 2023 and shop for a clean, well-equipped example.
