Used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale nearNew Orleans, LA

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Prices have softened 6.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,680 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

With a 3/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating, the 2023 Colorado looks strongest if you want a midsize truck that emphasizes capability and modern tech over luxury polish. The redesigned package focuses on the basics many truck buyers care about most, including a crew-cab, short-bed layout, strong towing and payload numbers, and a standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

At the same time, the expert notes point to a few trade-offs: the forward collision warning system can be aggravating, fuel economy is poor, and the interior materials feel cheap. That means the Colorado makes the most sense if you value utility, off-road ability, and up-to-date features more than cabin refinement. With 35.0% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2023 Colorado is built around a modern turbocharged four-cylinder setup and a standard eight-speed automatic, which gives it a contemporary mechanical foundation. The expert evaluation also describes it as robustly engineered, with strong capability and a quiet, composed ride on pavement.

The performance notes point to plenty of power, especially in higher trims, and the truck’s structure and suspension are described as confidence-inspiring in rough conditions. On the ownership side, the cost-effectiveness notes suggest the truck’s value can be undermined by disappointing fuel economy and a frustrating safety-system issue.

If you buy used, the biggest long-term risk is that a truck with a cheap-feeling cabin and poor fuel economy may cost more to live with than the purchase price suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any truck you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the suspension, tires, brakes, and any signs of hard off-road use. Focus on overall condition, because this model’s value depends heavily on how well it was maintained and whether it was used as a work truck or a recreation truck.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Work Truck trim includes modern instrumentation, infotainment, connectivity, and safety technologies, but the LT, Z71, and ZR2 get nicer cabins and more body-color treatment. The Trail Boss adds a purposeful skid plate and a more off-road-ready look, while the WT’s front end and interior are the most basic.
• Powertrain: Every 2023 Colorado uses a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. WT and LT models make 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while Trail Boss and Z71 models make 310 horsepower and 391 pound-feet. The ZR2 matches the 310-hp output but increases torque to 430 pound-feet.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Optional upgrades include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with active steering assist, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Every Colorado gets an 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, OnStar, Chevrolet connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Digital instrumentation is standard, with an 8-inch display on most trims and an 11-inch display on the ZR2.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert notes say fuel economy is poor, and the Trail Boss test truck returned 19 mpg on the official EPA rating and 17 mpg in testing.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and still want the Colorado’s standard digital instrumentation, 11.3-inch touchscreen, and core safety tech. It makes the most sense if you care more about capability and modern basics than appearance or off-road hardware.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more polished feel while keeping the Colorado’s core strengths intact. If you want a more everyday-friendly version without jumping straight into the off-road-focused trims, this is the one to start with.
• Trail Boss: This trim is for you if you want a more rugged look and stronger off-road hardware, including a suspension lift, all-terrain tires, and standard 4WD. It suits buyers who plan to leave pavement more often.
• Z71: This is the more balanced off-road-oriented choice if you want stronger capability without going all the way to the ZR2. It adds the more powerful engine tune and standard 4WD, making it a strong middle ground.
• ZR2: This is the most serious off-road version, with the highest torque output, a 3-inch lift, mud-terrain tires, and exclusive Multimatic DSSV dampers. Buy this if off-road performance is your top priority.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, but the optional driver-assistance upgrades are worth checking for on used examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,680 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.49% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,754, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $33,563 sits slightly below last year's $35,891.

That price movement suggests the Colorado has softened enough to create a better entry point for used buyers. If you’re planning to resell later, the current market gives you a more realistic baseline than last year’s higher average.

For a future seller, the key takeaway is that value retention will depend heavily on trim, condition, and equipment. Better-equipped off-road trims and clean, well-kept trucks should hold up better than basic examples with heavy wear or poor maintenance.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The 2023 Colorado earns a Top Safety Pick from IIHS and a three-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. OnStar adds SOS emergency calling and automatic crash notification, while Teen Driver and Buckle to Drive add family-focused safety tools.

The main caveat is the forward collision warning system, which the expert found overly sensitive and prone to false alerts. That issue is serious enough that it can affect day-to-day ownership satisfaction, especially if you spend a lot of time in traffic or on suburban roads.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.49% compared with last year.
• The redesigned truck brings standard digital instrumentation, an 11.3-inch touchscreen, and strong towing and payload capability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,781, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $33,563 average.
• It shifts further toward a modern lifestyle-pickup formula with a more contemporary presence.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter buy because it delivers the redesigned Colorado experience at a lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for the next model year’s more modern positioning, the 2024 is the cleaner choice for buyers who prioritize the latest version over savings.
