Used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale nearCincinnati, OH

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Prices have softened 6.70% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,846 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare on price and condition.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is a mixed but appealing choice if you want a midsize truck that emphasizes capability, tech, and style while accepting a few notable compromises. It earns a 3/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It comes through as practical and up to date, with strong payload and towing numbers, a crew-cab short-bed layout, and a design that looks as good as it works. The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel cheap, fuel economy is poor, and the forward collision warning system can be aggravating.

For shoppers who want a truck that feels modern and capable rather than stripped-down, the Colorado fits that brief well. The market also shows 36.1% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado comes across as mechanically straightforward, with a turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain and a design that focuses on core truck duties. Its performance tuning emphasizes usable power, and the truck’s structure and chassis feel robust in everyday driving.

The powertrain is described as satisfyingly swift, and the truck’s rigid body and composed ride support confidence on pavement and rougher surfaces. Chevrolet also includes modern tech and safety systems across the lineup, which helps the truck feel current.

That said, the cost-effectiveness commentary flags the forward collision warning issue as a major annoyance, and the fuel economy is described as disappointing. For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is less about basic capability and more about whether you can live with the truck’s fuel use and driver-assistance behavior.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status is only one part of the picture. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, electronics, and driver-assistance behavior, since the truck’s tech and safety systems are a major part of its appeal. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and how the truck was used, especially if you’re considering one of the more off-road-oriented trims.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Work Truck trim includes modern instrumentation, infotainment, connectivity, and safety technologies, but the LT, Z71, and ZR2 bring nicer cabins and more body-color treatment. The Trail Boss adds a purposeful skid plate that the WT lacks, while the off-road-focused trims also bring more aggressive hardware and standard four-wheel drive.
• Powertrain: Every 2023 Colorado uses a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic. WT and LT models make 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while Trail Boss and Z71 models make 310 horsepower and 391 pound-feet; ZR2 models keep 310 horsepower and increase torque to 430 pound-feet.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Optional upgrades include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with active steering assist, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Every Colorado gets an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, OnStar, connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Digital instrumentation is standard, with an 8-inch display on most trims and an 11-inch display on the ZR2.
• Fuel efficiency: The Trail Boss is rated at 19 mpg, and testing returned 17 mpg.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the entry point, but it still gets the Colorado’s modern digital instrumentation, 11.3-inch touchscreen, Google Built-in, and standard safety tech. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned truck and can live without the extra polish of the higher trims.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it keeps the core tech and adds a more appealing everyday setup, including the option for two-wheel drive. If you want a more balanced Colorado without jumping into the off-road-focused models, this is the one to start with.
• Trail Boss: This trim adds a 2-inch suspension lift, all-terrain tires, standard four-wheel drive, and a more purposeful off-road setup. It suits you if you want the Colorado’s rugged character without going all the way to the most extreme version.
• Z71: This trim also gets standard four-wheel drive and the stronger engine tune, while keeping the Colorado’s everyday usability intact. It’s a good fit if you want more capability than the LT but do not need the Trail Boss’s lifted stance.
• ZR2: This is the most capable off-road version, with a 3-inch lift, mud-terrain tires, exclusive Multimatic DSSV dampers, and the most torque in the lineup. Choose it if off-road performance matters more than price or fuel economy.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, but the more advanced driver-assistance features remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,846 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.70% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,742, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $33,388 sits slightly below last year's $35,786.

That price movement suggests the Colorado has softened enough to create a better buying window than it had a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

For a future seller, the key is to buy at the right point in the cycle and avoid overpaying for a trim or option package that the market does not reward. Trucks with cleaner histories and stronger equipment should hold up better than rougher examples, but the current trend still favors buyers more than sellers.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado does not stand out as a safety leader, even though it includes a solid list of standard driver-assistance features.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Optional safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with active steering assist, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors.

The main caveat is the forward collision warning system, which is described as overly sensitive and prone to false alerts. That issue is serious enough that it can affect day-to-day ownership satisfaction, especially if the truck you’re considering does not have the optional driver-assistance upgrades you want.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.70% compared with last year.
• The redesigned Colorado focuses on core truck basics, standard modern tech, and strong towing and payload capability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,388, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $33,388 average.
• It shifts toward a more modern lifestyle-pickup formula with a more contemporary presence.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because prices are lower and the market still offers decent deal availability. If you’re willing to pay more for the newer-year alternative, the 2024 is the path to consider, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2023 and shop carefully for a clean, well-equipped example.
