Owners consistently praise its comfort, impressive battery range, and excellent value for money. They also like the easy-to-use tech and spacious interior, which makes it appealing if you want an affordable EV that works well for families and everyday driving.

The trade-offs are that charging can feel slower than some rivals and the range leaves some owners wanting more. The Bolt EUV also has a front-wheel-drive-only setup, and some options can get pricey.

With a crossover-like shape and a strong value proposition, it fits best if you want an easy-to-live-with EV rather than a performance-focused one. Good and great deals account for 34.8% of listings, which is a healthy share of the market.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the battery and charging system have been cared for properly, especially given the model’s history and the importance of EV battery health.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had frequent fast charging or shows uneven wear. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Redline Edition appearance package adds black exterior badging, 17-inch gloss-black wheels, red trim, and black leather upholstery with red stitching. The cabin is clean and open, with a few physical controls for climate and audio volume, but the touchscreen’s glossy surface can show fingerprints easily.
• Powertrain: The Bolt EUV uses a single electric motor with front-wheel drive, making 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. It feels lively around town, but it is not especially quick or sporty.
• Safety package: The Chevy Safety Assist Package comes standard and includes front pedestrian braking, forward collision alerts, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warnings, automatic high beams, and following distance indicators. Lower trims can add a Driver Confidence Package with rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change alerts, and rear cross-traffic alerts. Premier adds adaptive cruise, a surround-view camera system, and Super Cruise.
• Infotainment: The standard 10.2-inch touchscreen includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An 8-inch digital gauge cluster is also standard, and the system can connect to the MyChevrolet smartphone app.
• Range & charging: The battery is 65 kWh, with an EPA range of 247 miles. Chevy says DC fast charging can recover up to 95 miles of range in 30 minutes.
• Battery health: Check battery state-of-health, ask how the car was typically charged, and look for a healthy mix of home charging rather than constant DC fast charging. Also confirm how much battery warranty coverage remains so you know what protection you still have as a used buyer.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV's resale value?

The current average of $20,996 sits slightly above last year's $20,691.

That modest increase suggests the Bolt EUV has held value reasonably well in the near term. For a future seller, that can be a positive sign because it points to steady demand rather than a sharp drop in buyer interest.

The year-over-year gain is not dramatic, but it does show the market has remained supportive of this model year. If you buy well and keep the car in good condition, that stability can help when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.47% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Chevrolet significantly lowered prices for 2023, making this one of the most affordable new EVs on sale.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $19,925, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $20,996 average.
• It is a larger, more SUV-like take on the Bolt formula.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, features, and current-market availability, the 2023 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 can still make sense, especially if you find a clean example with the equipment you want.
