How much does the 2023 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 9.57% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,124 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its luxury feel, elegant design, comfortable ride, and stylish interior. The Escalade also stands out for its impressive technology and strong presence, which fits buyers who want a large luxury SUV that feels distinctive rather than generic.

The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, the interior materials feel cheap in places, and fuel economy is poor. For shoppers who want a serious people mover with plenty of cargo space and a standout cabin experience, those compromises may be acceptable.

There are 33.2% good or great deals in the market, which suggests you can still find attractive pricing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as luxurious, comfortable, and stylish, and they also note the absence of accidents in many listings. That combination points to a vehicle that tends to satisfy owners over time, especially when it has been well cared for.

The Escalade’s strong highway-driving tech and generally polished ownership experience support confidence in daily use. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about finding one that has been maintained properly and not worn hard by heavy family or shuttle duty.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on cabin wear, electronics, and any signs of heavy use in the second and third rows. Since this SUV is often bought for family hauling and long-distance comfort, condition matters as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxury trim uses leatherette upholstery, while higher trims add more upscale leather combinations and richer cabin details. The base trim also misses some of the more premium visual and material touches that make the Escalade feel special.
• Powertrain: The standard 6.2-liter gasoline V8 is smooth for cruising but feels underwhelming when you ask for quick acceleration. An optional 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 is also mentioned and is described as torquey and efficient.
• Safety package: Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder are standard. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional.
• Infotainment: The cabin features a curved OLED screen array spanning 38 inches across the dash. Super Cruise is available, and the system uses infrared eye-tracking cameras to monitor driver attention.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard V8 can see a combined 16 mpg with 4WD, while the diesel is cited at a combined 22 mpg with 4WD.

Which 2023 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Escalade’s core size, presence, and technology. It makes sense if you want the nameplate and the big-screen experience without chasing the most expensive trim.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds more upscale cabin appeal while staying below the Platinum models. If you want the Escalade experience without paying for the top-end extras, this is the trim to focus on.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: Choose this if you want a more luxurious feel and are willing to pay for the richer presentation. It suits buyers who care most about cabin ambiance and premium details.
• Sport: This trim leans into darker exterior accents and a more aggressive look. It is the right pick if you want the Escalade’s presence with a more assertive visual style.
• Sport Platinum: This is the most upscale sport-oriented version and the one highlighted in the test drive material. It suits buyers who want the fullest mix of luxury, technology, and visual drama.

The safety package includes standard forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder, while several advanced driver-assistance features remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and still find a strong example.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,124 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.57% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $66,152, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $66,152 sits slightly below last year's $73,151.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the key takeaway is that a softer market can pressure resale values unless your vehicle is especially clean, well equipped, and well documented.

The Escalade’s strong technology, luxury appeal, and broad buyer recognition should help it remain desirable. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2023 Escalade earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat that vibrates to warn the driver, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional.

Should I buy a 2023 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over the Escalade’s standout technology and presence from the recent redesign.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $59,442, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $66,152 average.
• It offers flagship size, multiple powertrain choices, and a fresh redesign with Super Cruise and a 38-inch OLED display.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the newer-year market position and are shopping for the strongest mix of inventory and price softness. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the better value path because it delivers much of the same core Escalade appeal for less.
