How much does the 2023 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 8.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,027 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Cadillac Escalade earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its luxury feel, elegant design, and comfortable ride, and they also like the stylish interior and spacious cabin. The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, the interior materials can feel cheap in places, and some shoppers note discomfort from the lack of power-adjustable foot pedals.

For you, that means the Escalade makes the most sense if you want a large, high-status SUV with serious cabin space and a strong tech story. It is less compelling if you care most about refinement per dollar or quick acceleration.

36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still meaningful room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the SUV’s luxury, comfort, and absence of accidents in the listings they reviewed. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Escalade is built around a proven full-size SUV formula, with a powertrain and chassis setup designed for long-haul use and heavy-duty utility.

That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and cabin wear, since a vehicle this large and complex can become expensive if prior care was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. A pre-purchase inspection matters here because the Escalade’s size, technology, and luxury features can hide expensive issues. Focus especially on interior condition, electronics, and signs of hard use in a vehicle that may have spent a lot of time hauling passengers.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxury trim uses leatherette upholstery, while higher trims add richer leather combinations and more upscale cabin details. The base trim also misses some of the more premium visual and material touches that help the Escalade feel special.
• Powertrain: The standard 6.2-liter gasoline V8 makes 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and Cadillac also offers an optional 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 with 277 hp and stronger efficiency. The standard engine is smooth enough for cruising, but it is not especially quick for a vehicle this size.
• Safety package: Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder are standard. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional, so you should confirm which driver-assistance features are actually fitted.
• Infotainment: The cabin centers on a huge 38-inch OLED screen layout, and the tech suite includes a high-resolution front camera display and available Super Cruise. The system is a major selling point, so make sure every screen, camera, and control works properly.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard V8 with optional 4WD returns a combined 16 mpg, while the diesel with 4WD is rated at a combined 22 mpg.

Which 2023 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, but it is also the most stripped-down version of the Escalade experience. It gives you the core size, presence, and tech foundation, but you should expect fewer upscale cabin touches than the higher trims.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the Platinum pricing tier. If you want the Escalade’s luxury mission without overpaying, this is the trim to start with.
• Sport: Choose this if you prefer the darker exterior treatment and want the Escalade’s big presence with a more aggressive look. It is more about style than a major mechanical change.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This trim is for you if you want the richest cabin presentation and more of the Escalade’s luxury-first personality. It is the step up for shoppers who care most about interior ambiance and premium equipment.
• Sport Platinum: This is the most dramatic-looking mainstream trim and the one that best suits buyers who want maximum visual impact. It also sits near the top of the range, so it makes the most sense if you want the full statement-piece version.

The safety package is strong overall, but several key driver-assistance features remain optional, so check each listing carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,027 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $67,122, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $67,122 sits slightly below last year's $73,585.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure future resale if you plan to sell soon. For a seller, the current trend means you should expect more competition from similarly priced listings and may need to price aggressively to move the vehicle.

Even so, a well-kept Escalade still benefits from strong name recognition and broad shopper interest in full-size luxury SUVs. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2023 Escalade earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat that vibrates to warn the driver of possible danger, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder are standard. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional, so you should verify which systems are included on the specific vehicle you are considering.

Should I buy a 2023 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over the redesigned cabin tech and Super Cruise-era appeal with mostly unchanged hardware.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $60,468, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $67,122 average.
• It offers the same basic generation strengths in a slightly cheaper package.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, inventory, and the latest version of this generation’s tech-heavy Escalade formula, the 2023 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money and you are comfortable with a slightly older model year, the 2022 is the smarter value play.
