Should I buy a 2023 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 40.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $51,338, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $40,746 average.
• It adds a plug-in hybrid with about 40 miles of electric-only range.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the primary path because it combines a lower average price with strong satisfaction and a favorable deal mix. If you are willing to spend more for the newer model’s plug-in hybrid capability, the 2024 is the better secondary path for price-insensitive buyers.
