How much does the 2023 BMW 5 Series cost?

Prices have softened 7.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,357 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2023 BMW 5 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2023 BMW 5 Series earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview describes it as a comfortable luxury sedan with a little bit of verve, and even though it is softer and less sharp than older 5 Series models, it still offers more driving enjoyment than many competitors. It also brings a generous standard equipment list and a broad mix of performance and efficiency choices, which helps it fit a range of luxury-sedan needs. With 37.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive buying opportunities.

Is the 2023 BMW 5 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The overview also notes that this generation had a reputation for better reliability than the earlier F10 generation, which is encouraging if you want a used luxury sedan with a more reassuring ownership profile. Standard safety and driver-assistance equipment is also generous, which adds to day-to-day confidence. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is the usual luxury-car exposure to higher repair and maintenance costs if prior care was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 BMW 5 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.6% — always verify the vehicle history report. You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the electronics, driver-assistance features, and overall condition of the cabin and suspension. Because this model leans more toward comfort than sharpness, pay close attention to how the steering, brakes, and ride feel on a test drive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 BMW 5 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,357 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,885, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 BMW 5 Series's resale value?

The current average of $36,885 sits slightly below last year's $40,071. That kind of price movement suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right entry point. It also means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW 5 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $42,692, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $36,885 average.
• It shifts toward a quieter, more comfort-focused driving experience.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2023 if you want the better value and a well-equipped luxury sedan with strong owner satisfaction. If you are price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter starting point; if you want the newer model’s comfort-first character and can pay more, the 2024 is the alternative to compare.
