How much does the 2022 Toyota Prius cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 506 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Toyota Prius a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Prius earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its impressive fuel economy, comfortable ride, and efficiency-first appeal, and many say it delivers excellent mileage for everyday driving. That makes it a strong fit if you want a practical hybrid for commuting, saving at the pump, and handling daily use without much fuss. With 40.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Toyota Prius reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to dependable, trouble-free ownership, with repeated praise for its reliability and long-term value. That lines up with the Prius’s reputation for being a car you can count on for everyday use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is finding a neglected example, so condition and maintenance history matter more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Prius?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and confirm there are no hidden accident or title issues. Put inspection priority on overall condition, especially how the car has been maintained and whether it shows signs of hard use. Focus on the details that affect long-term ownership, since a clean-looking listing is only part of the story.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Prius?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 506 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,935, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Prius's resale value?

The current average of $22,918 sits slightly above last year's $22,735.

That small increase suggests the Prius has held value reasonably well, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing also points to steady demand rather than a market that is swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that usually means you can expect a more predictable exit price if the car stays clean and well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Prius or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $20,865, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,918 average.
• It emphasizes efficiency and everyday practicality.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,860, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,918 average.
• It adds a sharper design and more power.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price stability, owner satisfaction, and available inventory, the 2022 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the better price-sensitive alternative, while the 2023 makes sense if you want to spend more for the newer design and added performance.
