Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Prius Prime or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.23% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,800, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $24,198 average.
• It offers strong packaging, standard safety features, and an impressive electric range.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model year with stronger current-market pricing context, the 2022 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path and still brings many of the same efficiency-focused strengths.
